About:

Our client wanted a cozy terrace lounge for their office team. We designed a unique space that provides a break from work while maintaining functionality.

This project was aimed to transform their terrace space located in the city center into a comfortable lounge area, where their office team could take a break from work. They had a particular design requirement that we suggested and implemented. Our design ensures that when someone enters this space, they experience something completely different from their work environment, allowing them to clear their mind. It provides a necessary break from work while still maintaining some functionality.

Nestled within Mangaluru city, the cafe/restaurant is a captivating embodiment of design ingenuity. It beautiful- ly marries the mystique of a dark-themed environment with the gentle allure of pastel shades, evoking an en- chanting ambiance that is both captivating and calming The use of arched openings lends an air of sophistica tion while embracing the client's penchant for a timeless. touch. Notably, the integration of nature takes center stage, achieved through an artful interplay of greenery, a delicately placed water body, and the inclusion of a ded- icated corner for live musical performances, adding a harmonious rhythm to the dining experience.

The layout is thoughtfully orchestrated to cultivate openness, clev erly employing botanical elements and hanging drapes as subtle partitions to preserve a sense of intimacy. The seating arrangement boasts plush comfort, harmonizing with the warm glow of adjustable lighting fixtures that tastefully illuminate the space. The tactile essence of ex- posed brick and other textured materials exudes both character and charm. In essence, this design encapsu lates a symphony of elements, crafting a haven where the natural world intertwines seamlessly with the plea sures of culinary and auditory delight.

The Site is located in Channapatna, a town that is famous for its Wooden Toy Industry. The design is an extraordinary ode to this illustrious Industry and its artistic heritage. This visionary center offers a captivating platform for local artisans to exhibit their exceptional skills and creativity to a diverse audience. Embodying the essence of Channapatna’s origins, the design harmoniously blends tradition with modernity, creating a remarkable natural museum that traces the captivating journey of the world-renowned Channapatna toys. The center is designed as an exploration of the timeless craftsmanship, cultural significance, and artistic legacy of the city, which breathes life into this extraordinary architectural endeavor.

About:

The main goal of the studio was to include the idea of regular community clusters into vertical housing. The design process started with brainstorming social activity ideas, which were then transformed into a model and stacked vertically to observe the resulting activities and nodes. The studio aimed to capture regular social interactions within vertical structures, creating a practical and innovative living space.

Plan:

Mangalore's typical housing architecture reflects a beautiful blend of traditional and modern styles. These houses usually feature sloping roofs made of clay tiles, wooden elements, and colorful facades. The outdoor spaces are designed to encourage social interactions and community bonding. These common areas often serve as gathering spots for neighbors, promoting a sense of togetherness and cultural exchange. The outdoor spaces may have small gardens, benches, and seating areas where people can engage in conversations, relax, and enjoy the pleasant coastal climate of Mangalore.

A Retreat for the Rehabilitation Centers

About:

Poorly maintained rehab centers in Mangalore, especially for students, fail to provide a suitable environment for mental recovery. The current practice of housing individuals with various mental challenges together in a closed environment is counterproductive. Young minds require guidance to achieve mental calmness and normalize dopamine levels. Keeping them out of enclosed spaces, which may exacerbate feelings of a 'mental issue state,' allows them the privilege, treat, and knowledge that they can improve with- out being labeled as mentally disabled.
