s 2021 comes to a close and the smoldering embers of the global pandemic caused by COVID-19 linger in the air, its important to hold near and dear to us the magical whimsy of Christmas; and the delight that the season gives us.

When I began planning this issue, I knew I wanted our readers to feel delightful and full of joy. This past year has immersed Black Lives into the cultural zeitgeist like never before. America is not collapsing, it is coalescing around that which is right.

My best friend always tells me, "It's your time to shine princess." and I'm tell you - our most fervent readers - "It's our time to shine."

Blind them by our light, by our existence, and by our brilliance.

Not to gloat, but to enjoy and delight in the fruit laying bare, planted by our ancestors.
