For Veritas McMaster

Veritas McMaster Ceremony on AMV started at 10:00am (PST) time with 53 people came to Veritas McMaster’s Memorial service on the 2nd January 2023 to celebrate her life at the Memorial Region on the Alternate Metaverse Grid.

Nyx Breen, (Veritas Partner) who led the ceremony and welcoming everyone who came to celebrate Veri’s life.

Duckie Mayakovsky, (Veritas real life daughter) also attended to talk about Veri’s real life and how much virtual worlds meant to her.

The Ceremony was all on voice at the Chapel sharing Veri’s real life and her virtual life and how much of a loverly person she was.

Cataplexia Numbers performed a song called ‘ Angelby sarah mclachlan’ and Clan Escotia also did a performance ‘ To Where You Are - by Josh Groban ‘

Little.Beaver from Kitely Grid read a poem called ‘’Immortality (Do Not Stand By My Grave and Weep)‘’ written by by Clare Harner. -

“Do not stand By my grave, and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep--

I am the thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints in snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle, autumn rain.

Veri’s Facebook page reads: Open Sim AV who believes we can create anything in VWs, so let’s make it good ~ Do No Harm ~

My dear loving, kind, supportive friend was just as she portrayed herself on her social media, do no harm and create what we want that is good. That simple statement was the essence of her being; it personified the true heart of this glorious woman.

Veri was an accomplished individual in real-life and virtual world endeavors. She sought positions that allowed her to help those who needed compassion, understanding, and love.

Veri was the Former Administrator of Autistic Programs at the State University where she resided.

She was the Former President and Director at The Family Center, a school for children. Veri was an owner of multiple businesses and developments and sat on the board of numerous community-developed programs in her hometown.

Veri brought these traits into the virtual world, creating positive, welcoming places for all to participate. Her FB group Veri’s Vagaries: Wild * Whimsical * Unpredictable, as she named it, was a beloved group to communicate and build the Virtual World. A place, sharing the creative efforts of all who wish to partake.

Veri carried on her academic life in virtual worlds and worked with Dr. David Hubbard on Brodmann’s Brain project in SL. One of Veri’s closest efforts was Healing Hurt Clinic in SL. She helped people across virtual worlds to see a better life. I had the pleasure of participating with Veri on the last creative and academic project Veri worked on designing, implementing, and presenting a virtual to a real-life art project in a virtual-life and real-life gallery experience.

At this year’s 2022 Open Sim Community Conference. She was indeed a Metaverse Entrepreneur and promoter of the endless possibilities this world could be. Veri is loved by family, friends, and acquaintances in both the real world and especially in the virtual world, where Veri’s chat is only seen, and the internal beliefs she lives by are demonstrated to so many. Her message that all are welcome, all have value, and all are supported was genuinely shown by this remarkable woman.

In real-life, Veri stood out as a recognized champion of beliefs, mindsets, and causes well before they became a typical way of life. Equality for all, Women-Rights, Protect our Earth, Justice for all, The belief that all individuals have a right to live a life where they find Peace, Happiness, and Value of Self.

Veri’s philosophy was simple, “If it is not working, be patient and try again.” So I think back to how often she said that simple statement.

The prominent effect it has on me and the countless others gathered here and across her beloved virtual world is evident in this celebration of the life that is Veritas McMaster.

Kahlil Gibran’s insight into our inner self helped me to understand this tragedy of a loved one taken and the dreams of a tomorrow with Veri turned into just dreams.

“When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.”

Veri was and will always be the “Delight” that showered my being with love, optimism, and the pleasure of being lucky enough to be part of this extraordinary individual’s life.

As she told me often, “If it is not working, be patient and try again.” I always will, my love, and I always will.

Veritas McMaster loved me, and that love made my life immensely more significant. Those who knew and loved Veri and experienced her joy de vie were also enriched.

Thank You, all, for sharing in the Celebrations of Veri’s Life. I will never forget the love you showed her today and the support, kindness, and help you all offered me.

Have we lost her in our lives? I believe not; Veri has placed into our lives a possibility that we can be better and help others be the best they can be. This is the greatest embodiment of an extraordinary life.

A life Veritas McMaster lived, and we are all the better for it, adieu my love you live in all worlds in my heart, memory, and soul, which I have given you to carry into eternity. Thank you all.

Veritas real life daughter Duckie Mayakovsky says a few words: If you would indeed behold the spirit if death, open your heart wide unto the body of life.

For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; and like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.

The Ceremony closes with Nyx Breen’s request of a final song to end the Ceremony with “ You Are The Sunshine Of My Life “ a Piano Cover by Claudio Lanz.

People in local expressing their feelings and emotions about Veri to Duckie Mayakovsky her real life daughter and partner Nyx Breen.

The Ceremony of Veritas McMaster lasted about an hour and half as Cataplexia Numbers streams on the radio to soft piano music by David Lanz as people gathered their belongings to head out.

WINTERFEST 2022

The Winterfest will be staying until March time, so if you havent already checked it out, it is best to do so after reading this magazine, and for Christmas Market Regionis set to stay on the Alternate Metaverse Grid for good, to give everyone a chance to bring the inner self out to play in the Snow and Skate on the Ice.

Quick chilli

This fast and filling chilli is great served with rice or piled high onto a baked potato and dolloped with soured cream

Ingredients

100g chorizo, sliced 350g tub fresh tomato and chilli sauce 400g can kidney beans, (rinsed and drained) 400g can chickpea, rinsed and drained rice and natural yogurt, or jacket potatoes and soured cream, to serve Most Popular Alternative Double bean & roasted pepper chilli

Dry-fry the chorizo for a few mins in a non-stick frying pan until crisp. Carefully pour off any fat from the pan, then tip in the sauce and beans with 100ml water. Bring to a simmer, cover, then lower the heat and bubble for 10 mins. Spoon over rice and serve with yogurt.

Ingredients

1 tbsp vegetable oil

1 red chilli, sliced (optional)

1 garlic clove, sliced 500g mixed vegetables such as (pak choi, baby corn and broccoli)

1½ tbsp soy sauce 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce

Serve with Grill a fillet of fish or chicken and serve with this crispy, superhealthy side or of your choice

STEP 1

Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok, then fry the chilli and garlic for 1 min.

STEP 2 Add the veg and toss to coat in the oil. Fry for 2-3 mins, then add the soy and chilli sauce, mixing well. Cook for 2-3 mins more until the veg are tender.
