Alternate Metaverse Grid turns the BIG 3 this year on December 2nd 2022 celebrating a joint Celebration with the Aurora II Cruise Liner Anniversary that also has its Birthday on the 5th December aging very nicely at 1 Years Old.

Let’s celebrate the 3rd birthday of the Alternate Metaverse Grid with Friends, Family having Fun, Laughter and Joy together.

The Birthday Celebrations will be happening for Four Days running so

everyone can make it to at least one or more Venue Events.

This Year a Special Birthday Region was Created by Ted Junior as you can see on the pictures for everyone to come and join in the Birthday Celebrations.

There will be lots to see around the Birthday Region and Supported by Live Performers, DeeJays, Story Telling and More happenings.

AMV3B - Alternate Metaverse Grid Celebrates 3 Years!

Another year has passed in our happy home at Alternate Metaverse Grid, and we continue to grow and flourish! Alternate Metaverse Stores & Products were founded and created by Cataplexia Numbers since 2006. Clifford Hanger began the grid in 2019 naming it VWorld originally. When they married, the grid was renamed to Alternate Metaverse, A name that stood for quality creations as it has for 16 years. The Grid became one of those. This Year- December 2-5 we Celebrate 3 years of our beautiful grid and its incredible residents, knowing we are built around them, beneath them and hand in hand with them!

This Celebration is on the NEW Region AMV Birthday, A Co-Creation of Ted Junior and Chris McCracken, to excellent builders and landscapers! There are a few touches by Cataplexia Numbers as well. We will start off with a Town Meeting to open on December 2nd and the inauguration of our Grid’s Mayor, The lovely Taffy Star. The opening will also feature a speech by our Koryphon Academy Dean of Education, Derrybeg Arabello.

AMV Aquatic Christmas Parade

This year there will be a Boat Parade live show happening on AMV on the 18th December from 2:00pm (pst) on AMV MetaSea There will be Building and decorating Guides for this Hands-on activity in creating and designing of the Boats in a Winter Theme if needed, feel free to Contact Xenon Darrow on the Alternate Metaverse Grid for details to set you up with a Guide.

To take part in this Winterfest Boat Parade you (MUST) Register for a place from the 1st December and Registration Closes on the 15th December, so be Quick to book your Entry.

It’s that time of year when, regardless of how or what you celebrate, when those old holiday musicals get streamed and holiday music fills the air. In kind, as Alternate Metaverse prepares for Winterfest, we pave the way with a new event - the AMV Holiday Boat Parade! This is your chance to have some fun and shine! Come to AMV and get a boat to decorate! Or even build your own! The event will be held at the MetaSea region - our huge 12x12 region dedicated to all things nautical.

As the date approaches for the decorating to begin, we will be sharing a website with information and directions to pick up an information packet at MetaSea. There will be boats provided, should you wish to use one. We welcome original builds as well! We have several holiday malls, including Christmas Market and Christmas Town. You can find nearly everything a burgeoning holiday boat designer could need!

This event is open to all of the hypergrid. Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate. We encourage you to create an Alternate Metaverse avatar to make things easier. You can do that at http://alternatemetaverse.com Your account is complimentary of course. We welcome your participation!

KORYPHON ACADEMY

Koryphon Academy is a Free & Open Education Center offering educational and instructional courses for students from All Grids in OpenSim. Located on Alternate Metaverse Grid, (AMV). Koryphon Academy focuses on bringing interesting and helpful classes, lectures and workshops to ALL using multimedia appropaches and free software in some of the classes. Instructors are being gathered from across OpenSim to provide these learning these classes.

If you have ideas, questions or needs of certain Virtual Life skills or are interested in sharing your knowledge with others.

ACADEMY is looking for new instructors

Our current team creates excellent results and the number of students is still growing. Alternate Metaverse focuses on project-based and thematic learning which helps the students apply what they learned in class in their virtual life. We are looking for enthusiastic teachers who are interested in teaching students from all around the world.

Koryphon Academy focuses on bringing interesting and helpful classes, lectures and workshops to ALL using multimedia appropaches and free software in some of the classes. Instructors are being gathered from across OpenSim to provide these learning these classes.

“FOOD FOR THOUGHT”

MENU OF THE MONTH SAUSAGE ROLLS

Sausage rolls are the extra-flaky version of pigs in a blanket.

Ingredients

1 (about 17-ounce) package frozen puff pastry, such as Pepperidge Farm

4 to 5 sprigs fresh thyme

1 large egg

1 tablespoon water

1 pound uncooked bulk or pork sausage, casings removed

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon ground sage

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon ground white or black pepper

All-purpose flour

Serves 6 to 8, Makes 24 sausage rolls, Prep time 15 minutes, Cook time 20 minutes to 24 minutes

STEPS FOR COOKING

1. Thaw 1 (about 17-ounce) package frozen puff pastry according to package directions or at room temperature for 30 minutes.

Take it out of the box for thawing but keep in the paper packaging to prevent it from drying out. Meanwhile, prepare the following: Pick the leaves from 4 to 5 fresh thyme sprigs until you have 1 tablespoon, then finely chop. Beat 1 large egg with 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl.

2. Remove the casings from 1 pound pork sausage if needed. Place the sausage, thyme, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon ground sage, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon ground white or black pepper in a large bowl.

Mix with clean hands untilwell combined. Refrigerate at least 15 minutes to firm up. Meanwhile, arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat the oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

3. Unfold the 2 puff pastry sheets onto a lightly floured cutting board (if there is just one sheet, cut it in half crosswise). Roll each sheet out with a rolling pin into a 10x9-inch rectangle.

3. Cut each sheet in half lengthwise to make 4 (10x4 1/2inch) rectangles. Arrange the rectangles vertically so a short side is closer to you.

4. Divide the sausage mixture into 4 portions. Using wet hands and a bench scraper if needed, roll each portion into a log about 10 inches long, 1-inch wide, and 1-inch thick. Place a sausage roll lengthwise in the middle of each pastry rectangle.

5. Brush the edges of the pastry with the egg wash. Working with 1 rectangle at a time, roll the the left and right sides of the pastry over the sausage to meet and overlap in the mid dle. Carefully press down to seal the seam. Use your hands to form each side to create a compact log shape. Arrange seam-side down.

6. Cut each roll crosswise into 6 (just over 1 1/2-inch) piec es. Arrange seam-side down on the baking sheet, spacing them about 1-inch apart. (If you prefer larger sausage rolls to serve as a meal, cut into larger pieces.) Generously brush the tops and sides of the pastry of each sausage roll with the remaining egg wash.

7. Bake for 12 minutes. Rotate the baking sheet and bake until the pastry is cooked and puffed, the tops are evenly golden-brown, and the sausage is cooked through, 8 to 12 minutes more. Transfer the sausage rolls to a wire rack abnd let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve warm, at room tempera ture, or even cold with the dipping sauce of your choice.

Recipe Notes

Make ahead: Refrigerate assembled and unbaked sausage rolls (without the egg wash on top) for up to 24 hours.

Brush with the egg wash before baking, baking for a few minutes more.

Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Freezing: Both unbaked and cooked sausage rolls can be frozen in a freezer-safe resealable bag or airtight container for up to 3 months.

They are better to freeze unbaked (without egg wash) and can be cooked from frozen, although they will take up to 10 minutes longer to cook.
