BornintoahighlyillustriousfamilyoftraditionalmusiciansoftheAgraGharana,Mehboobisthegrandson ofthelegendaryUstadVilayatHussainKhan(Pranpiya)andGayanSamratUstadAzmatHussainKhan (Dilrang).Endowedwitharichmelodiousandsonorousvoice,Mehboobwasinitiatedinmusicbyhisfather UstadYakubHussain.HethenbeganhissitartrainingunderhisuncleShriRafatKhan.Heisnowunderthe guidanceofworld-renownedsitarmaestroPanditArvindParikh,oneofthemostaccomplishedofthe presentgenerationoftheVilayatkhaniGharana.MehboobNadeemisTheBhavan’sresidentteacher.
