In the second term, we continue to learn Sanskrit through reading original texts.

This year features two fantastic exponents of Sitar and Sarod; accompanied by two rising stars in the field of Tabla. Sitar by Kalyanjit Das, Tabla by Ishaan Ghosh, Sarod by Indrayuddh Majumder, Tabla by Sohon Ghosh.

100th YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF USTAD ALLA RAKHA The Alla Rakha Foundation presents a two - day celebration of the musical legacy of the tabla legend on his 100th year anniversary by his sons Fazal Qureshi and Taufiq Qureshi.

This play is a poignant journey through childhood, adolescence and adulthood filled with memories. A boy born and raised in an Indian palace, traverses through the jet-set ad world, copes with deep loss, and ultimately discovers himself through his father’s craft of theatre.

Theatre OSCAR ET LA DAME ROSE (French Drama) Wed 19 & Thu 20 June | 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm | £12- 15 (On the Door - £15 - £20) Atelier Théâtre Good Morning is the only drama workshop for amateurs in French language taking place in the morning in London. Their production tells the story of 10-year-old Oscar who is a cancer patient coping with the help of Mamie-Rose, an old lady who is a volunteer at the hospital.

PARAMPARA Fri 21 June | 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm | £10 The Bhavan presents ‘Parampara’, an evening of Hindustani Classical Music that represents a tradition that has lasted generations and continues to flow through artists even today here in London. This evening features Prabhat Rao, a senior disciple of Bhavan’s resident teacher Chandrima Misra. He will be accompanied by his student Diksha Murli, on Tabla by Pulkit Sharma and Harmonium by Rishikesh Kardile

This unique program performed in two parts will showcase the influence of Lalan Fakir’s songs (primarily Baul and Kirtanango) on Rabindra Sangeet in the first and ‘Chandalika’, one of Tagore’s most popular dance dramas in the second.

DANCE PERFORMANCE AND WORKSHOP – BALADEVI CHANDRASHEKAR June 21 – 23 | £25 (incl music) The workshop will consist of teaching a dance piece which will encompass the aspects of Nritta, Karanas, and Abhinaya through both theory and practice. Students will develop a thorough knowledge of the literature, music, story and moorings of the dance piece taught; and encouraged to engage in artistic dialogue.

BRIHADEESWARA – FORM TO FORMLESS, THROUGH THE EYES OF A DEVARADIYAAL | Sun June 23 | 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm | £15, £10 Kalaiamamani Bala Devi Chandrashekar takes the audience on a journey into the soul and mind of a Devaradiyaal – one who has dedicated herself to the eternal service of the Lord. This production connects the magnificent UNESCO heritage to the metaphysical energy of the Brihadeeswara temple.

An exhibition and sale of rare, handwoven and heritage textiles and vintage, handcrafted silver jewellery from the Indian subcontinent.

In this year’s edition, we showcase the life and work of Patan Patola master weaver and national award winner, Kanubhai Salvi from Patan, Gujarat. Also, on display will be silver and gemstone jewellery by London based jewellery designer Josephine Nirmala and rare, handwoven Benarasis, Kanjeevarams and Jamdanis by The Far East Art Studio. Enthusiasts can attend a dyeing and weaving masterclass

by Kanubhai Salvi.

This is an opportunity to see young artists at the very beginnings of their career and gives students invaluable performing experience at a very high level.

For the first time in a decade, ‘Sanskriti’ Reading presents Bengal’s pride - the Bengali folk band DOHAR - a group of folk musicians of international repute. Their music ranges from the folk songs of Eastern India and Bangladesh to the songs of Tagore, Lalan Fakir, Raja Ramon, Baul Shah Abdul Karim and others.
