COVER STORY
Kallie's Bucket List
written by Missy Lovett
Lights...Camera...Action!
Tears ran down my cheeks as I read about Kallie and her battle with Cancer. Her sweet handwritten, “Bucket List” really brought on the waterworks as I read each colorful item listed. Then there it was #5: Be in a professional photo shoot. I knew exactly what needed to be done in order to give this special day to Kallie...
I sent a group text to my super talented friends from The Beauty Battalion’s previous projects and within a matter of seconds...they ALL responded YES, they’re in.
We reached out to our friends at Cover Girl, and they were more than happy to supply ALL the makeup for the Photo Shoot AND gift it to Kallie. The generous owners and staff at Creative Wigs & Hair Replacement gifted Kallie a gorgeous wig for her big day...AND she got to keep it! The Robinson and Ross families happily supplied the cute and cuddly puppy, who Kallie later named, “Waylon.” My Pet Pail sent supplies for Kallie and her Puppy. So many kind and generous friends helped to make Kallie’s day magical.
While plans were underway to create the most amazing photo shoot for Kallie, we were contacted by Fox 13’s Dream Team, who had been working on some big items to check off for Kallie’s Bucket List. We decided to team up for this special event and make it an unforgettable experience for Kallie and her family.
A MOTHER’S LOVEInterview with Kallie’s Mom, Kimberly Bjarnson

M: Tell me about your family. Your girls. Your husband.YOU!
Rock as a General Forman. When the weather is good welike to camp and BBQ and do some back-porch sitting.Haha.
K: Our family is a regular type of family. We like tospend time together, go on vacations together and playgames when we can.
I work as a lunch clerk for Nebo School District. Myfavorite color is pink and I love to just spend time withmy family and friends...and shopping of course!
Our girls love to play softball and play outside. We liketo go sledding when the weather is cold and watchmovies. Our favorite family movies are, Just Go with It,
M: Where are you guys from? How do you like the communitythere? Are you guys ‘country’ or ‘city’ folk?
and How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days.K: We are from Mapleton, Utah. When we were first

we decided to move to Springville, Utah. We spent a few years there and then decided to buy our first house, which happened to be in the next town over, Mapleton. It is a quiet, small town. We love our neighborhood. It is a close-knit community. Everyone helps out, and everyone is there for anything and everything! I would describe our family as being a little bit country, and a little bit city, too. We love both types of life and love to go to Salt Lake City any time we can.
K: Raising three girls is both very fun and very stressful, depending on the day. Also, it is very expensive! Haha. They are great girls and every day is a little different. If the two younger ones aren’t getting along, you will know it, and it sets a tone for the house. But they are all three my best friends. We talk to each other about everything and we ask for each other’s opinions on practically everything! I really couldn’t see myself raising anything but girls.
M: What is it like raising three girls? What is the dynamiclike? Tell me about their personalities.
Kourtney, the oldest, is very dead-set on her dreamsand goals and what she wants in life. She has the bestfashion sense and is really the sweetest person in the
world. She is married and works at a Salon/Boutique in Lindon, Utah. I can’t say enough about her! She is someone everyone looks up to and wants to be just like. She also has the most infectious laugh!
Laney, the youngest, can get very emotional at times. We call it the baby syndrome, but she is so much fun. She makes friends so easily, and everywhere she goes. She loves music and loves to sing. When she and I go anywherein the car together, you can find us singing out loud with our music blasting!
Kallie is the middle child and she is very laid back and easy going. She is up to do just about anything. She is thekindest girl. She is so selfless and always worried abouteveryone else and how they are feeling. She gets so sad ifanyone’s feelings are hurt. She is such a sweetheart.
M: What memories stand out to you. Anything funny? Whatwere your girls like as little kids? Anything you rememberspecifically? (My Sadie lived in her muscleman “Spidey” Suitfrom ages 2-4! That thing was so worn out and gross and she

would NEVER take it off...just running through the house andsaying in a deep voice, “I Spideyman”) OMG! I miss that age somuch! haha
Laney had these stretch pants that were the bell bottom type.We called them her ‘fancy pants’ because every time she putthem on she would strut her stuff. She also never wantedto take them off! I had to hide them when we would go out somewhere nice.
K: Kallie and Laney would empty the toy bucket, get in it, and ride down the stairs! LOL!
M: What are some of your favorite family traditions?
Kallie had this blanket that she wouldn’t let go of. She lookedlike a cabbage patch doll when she was little and had suchshort little legs, you couldn’t believe she was old enough to walk! Haha
K: We love to go to St. George every Labor Day and stay in acondo and just swim, hike, be lazy and eat. We love it!
