OUR MISSION

The Ingersoll Grand Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID) provides enhanced maintenance services to the 200+ planters, 75+ urns, 30+ trash receptacles plus numerous benches and pedestrian areas along the Ingersoll Avenue streetscape

We promote the many businesses and neighbors that make our district special through events, marketing efforts and partnerships. We champion local art through creative pop-up activations, permanent public art installations & ongoing maintenance to existing works.

The Ingersoll Avenue streetscape is an awardwinning, one-of-a-kind design. It has reduced crashes, slowed speeds and built an accessible corridor for all modes of transportation. Elements of our streetscape have since been implemented in all areas across the City of Des Moines.

The Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand is a nonprofit that provides economic development, marketing & promotion, enhanced maintenance and beautification of this commercial, cultural and residential district located in the historical heart of Des Moines, Iowa. www.theavenuesdsm.com
