CLEAN, SAFE & BEAUTIFUL

The district partners with Perficut to maintain the planter beds, seasonal urns (pictured) and pedestrian amenities located along Ingersoll Avenue. Did you know: The streetscape currently includes 200+ planter beds and 80+ seasonal urns More are added as each phase of the streetscape project is completed!

SPECIAL EVENTS

The Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand now has two annual, signature events: Ingersoll LIVE and The Peppermint Trail (pictured). These events welcome new and returning visitors to the district and support the local business community This past fiscal year, the district also played host to Art Week and Winefest Progressive Dinner.

ARTS & CULTURE

Ingersoll & Grand Avenues are home to 30+ works of public art. You can view them all on a new interactive map located on our website. Most works are permanent, while others are pop-up activations (like the yarn-bombed bikes pictured from July 2023) The Avenues of Ingersoll & Grand is an official Cultural & Entertainment District Our vision is to be Des Moines’ mosaic of people-to-people connections, culture and commerce.

BY THE NUMBERS

2.3 MILLION VISITS

Foot traffic data shows 466K people visited Ingersoll Avenue this fiscal year, according to Placer AI. This is a year-over-year increase of nearly 8%.

170 BIKES PER DAY

Cycling volumes doubled on the corridor from October 2023–June 2024 thanks to increased cycling infrastructure added by the streetscape project.

STREETSCAPEPROGRESS

Property valuation of the Ingersoll-Grand Self Supported Municipal Improvement District – a $50M increase in valuation over the past decade.
