FOR A CENTURY OF FLIGHT
ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION FOR AEROSPACE AND DEFENSE
The Austin Company has served the Florida Space Coast for nearly four decades, beginning the design and construction of the first automated warehouse at Kennedy Space Center for flight hardware and ground-support equipment used in the NASA Space Shuttle Program. Recent projects include multiple major Florida facilities for Northrop Grumman – an Austin client nationwide for more than 70 years – in Melbourne and, St. Augustine, and Embraer in Melbourne. Currently, Austin has major Florida Space Coast facilities programs underway for Blue Origin and L3Harris Technologies.
Our local Melbourne office underscores Austin’s dedication and commitment to serving the Florida Space Coast.

We are committed to local investment in the region and will continue that investment by utilizing local resources and developing both trade and client partnerships.
- BRIAN LESLIE, VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS
As a national design-build firm, Austin has served the aviation and aerospace industry since 1916, beginning with designing and constructing the Curtiss-Wright aircraft plant. This plant was the first of many “world’s largest” industrial facilities designed and constructed by Austin. Boeing (and its heritage companies) has been an Austin client for more than 100 years, with notable projects nationwide, including the vast 747, 757, 767, 777, and 787 aircraft assembly complex in Everett, Washington, the C-17 Airlifter complex in Long Beach, California, and the Delta IV Rocket Factory in Decatur, Alabama (now supporting ULA – United Launch Alliance), among many others. Austin has served Lockheed Martin for more than 55 years, for facilities nationwide, including the Skunkworks complex in Palmdale, California. Additional aviation and aerospace clients include Aerospace Corporation, Airbus, General Atomics, and Aerojet Rocketdyne (an L3Harris Technologies Company). Austin’s Melbourne office is a hub for aerospace and defense subject matter experts, designers, engineers, and construction management professionals. This team continues Austin’s ongoing architectural design, engineering, construction, and design-build work on Florida’s Space Coast and throughout the region to support the USSF Space Systems Command Assured Access to Space mission.
