Rajiv Joseph’s play BENGAL TIGER AT THE BAGHDAD ZOO was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and was awarded a grant for Outstanding New American Play by the NEA. He won the Obie Award for Best New American Play for his plays GUARDS AT THE TAJ (also a Lortel Winner for Best Play) and DESCRIBE THE NIGHT. Other plays include GRUESOME PLAYGROUND INJURIES and ANIMALS OUT OF PAPER. Joseph has been awarded artistic grants from the Whiting Foundation, and the Harold & Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust among.

After years apart, Christy shows up unexpectedly at the home of her older sister Sharon, now married to Christy’s old high school friend Kimberly. A knock at the door forces Christy to reveal that she’s running from an abusive marriage. The dangerous situation causes the formerly estranged sisters to heal their past wounds and address the situation at hand.

His work has been seen at New World Stages, Bay Street, New York Musical Festival, Barrington Stage, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and Stage West, performed on six continents, and translated into eight languages.
