– A History Formed in 2010, THEATREiNQ was born of the desire to save Townsville’s annual Shakespeare Under the Stars event. The company is driven by Director/Actor Terri Brabon, Actor/Producer Brendan O’Connor and the Executive Committee of Lorna Hempstead, Ray Dickson and Bernie Lanigan. In the space of just two years, THEATREiNQ have produced two record seasons of outdoor Shakespeare (Richard III and The Merry Wives of Windsor); produced a sell-‐out season of COSI by Louis Nowra in a new “Wizardz of Aus” Series designed to complement local education programs; produced an award-‐winning exhibition of Company Photographer, Chrissy Maguire’s work entitled “BREAK A LEG”; conducted a workshops series that reached over 150 people in the Townsville region and Terri & Brendan were awarded the Jean-‐Pierre Voos Theatre Award at the Townsville City Council Arts Awards in 2012. In 2012, THEATREiNQ have rebranded and formed an exciting residency program with Townsville’s professional dance company, Dancenorth within their historic School of Arts Building. Along with this season of Andrew Bovell’s When the Rain Stops Falling, the company will produce the 17th Shakespeare Under the Stars, KING LEAR in Queens Gardens in September. In addition to the production schedule, THEATREiNQ is dedicated to the professional development of regional theatre and its artists, hosting a unique programme for emerging performers, THE BRIDGE PROJECT and Public Workshops with both local and invited industry professionals.

TERRI BRABON Elizabeth Law (younger)

Born and bred in Ayr, Terri began her career at TROPIC LINE THEATRE under the direction of the late Jean-Pierre Voos. As the Artistic Director of THEATREiNQ, Terri has directed THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, COSI & RICHARD III for the company. As an actress with the AUSTRALIAN SHAKESPEARE COMPANY, her roles include Helena in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, the Nurse in ROMEO AND JULIET, Maria in TWELFTH NIGHT, Grumio in TAMING OF THE SHREW, Elizabeth in RICHARD III, Adriana in COMEDY OF ERRORS and Lady Macbeth in MACBETH. TV and Commercial credits include McDONALDS, KRAFT, NEIGHBOURS, UNDERBELLY and the upcoming feature film JOHN DOE. MADELEINE DYER Gabrielle York (younger)

Madeleine grew up in Townsville performing in many local productions. You may know her from such past musicals ANNIE, CABARET and A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, to name a few. She left Townsville to complete her acting degree at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) and continued south to Sydney. Apart from reprising her role as a Kit Kat Dancer again in CABARET in Sydney and getting into some film work, she continued her studies, more so behind the camera, at the INTERNATIONAL FILM SCHOOL, where she began to harness her skills as a TV comedy writer/producer. Madeleine is delighted to be back on stage in her hometown in an amazing play, with a cast and crew of amazing people to boot!

LISA EDMOND Gabrielle York (older)

BRIAN EDMOND Joe Ryan

Lisa trained in acting at the University of Southern Queensland’s (USQ) Bachelor of Theatre, and appeared in many shows including CONFUSIONS, PEER GYNT, LADY AUDLEY’S SECRET, WAITING FOR GODOT, FALLING FROM GRACE (USQ), DIRTY DICK’S THEATRE RESTAURANT (Britannia Inn), THE WHITE DEVIL and THE SEAGULL (TROCADERO PRODUCTIONS) and THE LEGEND OF KING O’MALLEY (ON GIANTS’ SHOULDERS). Lisa was last seen on stage as the saucy Lucy in AVENUE Q (TCOS) and the very Scottish Mrs Pearce in MY FAIR LADY (TCOS). Although a fan for some time, this is Lisa’s first production with Terri Brabon and THEATREiNQ. It is truly an honour to be involved with this fantastic ensemble cast, wonderful company and powerful and beautiful play. Brian has worked as a professional actor and director in Brisbane. His directing credits include GUYS AND DOLLS, BRIGADOON, OKLAHOMA!, GREASE, THE LEGEND OF KING O’MALLEY, AWAY, MEASURE FOR MEASURE, MILL FIRE, and HOLY DAYS to name a few and also ran his own theatre company in Brisbane - ON GIANTS’ SHOULDERS. In Townsville, he has directed the critically acclaimed MY FAIR LADY (TCOS) and most recently HAIR (NQOMT). As an actor, Brian has appeared with the QUEENSLAND THEATRE COMPANY, LA BOITE, MIXED COMPANY and TROCADERO PRODUCTIONS and, in Townsville as Patsy in SPAMALOT (TCOS) and The Governor in BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS (NQOMT). Brian is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work on this extraordinary play with Terri and Brendan and THEATREiNQ. Our ensemble has been great to work with and I have relished the challenge of bringing Joe Ryan to life.

BETH HONEYCOMBE Elizabeth Law (older)

From the Director…

When this play first premiered in 2008 and then toured the capital cities, I remember being intrigued by the passionate following it received by all who saw it. I missed the Melbourne season as I was in Townsville at the time, however I bought myself a copy last year and could not put it down. To say "I love this play" is a desperate understatement. When the Rain Stops Falling is quite simply the most important piece of Australian Theatre written in recent history and it gives me great pleasure to bring it to life and give North Queensland audiences a chance to see this haunting play. I have been blessed with an extraordinary ensemble and Kerry Muzzey’s heart-‐breaking score, making this a very special journey for us all.

Brendan and I would like to dedicate this production to the courageous "Andrew'" in the story of our lives; Bob Brabon & Gerry O'Connor. Both of these men had the courage to be better father's than the example they were shown. We are honoured and proud to call you "Dad".

We cannot change the past, but we share a responsibility to the future. And there is no better time to start, than now.

xxx Terri
