The Crucible is definitely in my Top Ten Favourite Plays of all time and it has been a long held dream to direct my own production.

I have been in two previous productions of The Crucible. One was at University where I played Mary Warren, and in the second, I played Abigail Williams directed by Jean-Pierre Voos. It has been an enormous pleasure to guide two remarkable young actresses through their first encounter with these roles and both Emily Edwards & Anna Wallace give outstanding performances that I could not be more proud of.

I have been extremely blessed to have such a talented ensemble to work with on this production and of course, the gift of having Brendan O’Connor take on the pivotal role of John Proctor. It’s also been a thrill to have Kellie Esling, Arminelle Fleming, Bernie Lanigan, Robert Street & John Goodson in the team, all of whom were in the 1996 production with me. I love that we are all still working together.

To me, this play is not about a witch hunt. It’s about the test of one’s character. Your faults need not define you forever and we may only discover our true worth when put to an ultimate test.
