Americans travel to Pakistan to free Christians trapped in modern-day slavery

Idaho resident Aaron Hutchings arrived at a Pakistani brick factory in January. The devout Christian told Fox News Digital that he was shocked to see children turning bricks under the hot sun to work off the debts that their families had incurred, sometimes over the course of generations. 3 Punjabi youths jailed for extortion-linked shooting at Surrey home

Why super-sized and politicised World Cup comes at a cost

Three Punjabi youths have been sentenced by a Canadian court for their involvement in an extortionlinked shooting incident at a residence in Surrey, British Columbia. According to Canadian media reports, Taranveer Singh (19 at the time of the incident), Harjot Singh (21), and Dayajeet Singh Billing (21) pleaded guilty on June 9 in Surrey Provincial Court. “Taranveer Singh pleaded guilty to reckless discharge of a firearm and was sentenced to five years in prison. After credit for time served, he'll serve nearly 4.5 more years behind bars. Dayajeet Billing and Harjot Singh both pleaded guilty to throwing an explosive substance, and were sentenced to just over two years each in prison. After credit for time served, Billings will spend another 20 months behind bars, while Harjot Singh will serve 18 more months, followed by two years of probation each,” report.

The words of Fifa president Gianni Infantino when hailing this summer's World Cup across the United States of America, Mexico and Canada. Whatever one's perspective, it seems certain that away from the on-field spectacle, this super-sized World Cup could be among the most contentious ever. Continued on Page 10...

Sarai proud of the new federal Groceries and Essentials Benefit An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) constable killed in the line of duty near Hearst is being remembered as a “selfless” and “courageous” officer whose death has left communities across the province and beyond grieving. “He was a young man who put himself in harm’s way to keep the public safe,” said Patrick Brown, mayor of Brampton, where Const. Tarun Bali was raised and still has family. Brown said Bali, 29, had volunteered for a backfill assignment in northern Ontario to help police services during staffing shortages. On Tuesday, the officer, who had been with the OPP for 2½ years, was seriously injured during an investigation near Hearst and later died. Continued on Page 10...

Randeep Sarai, Secretary of State (International Development), is proud of the new Groceries and Essentials Benefit, as well as the one-time GST Credit top-up that was issued to Canadians on, June 5, 2026. This support represents a one-time 50% increase in the annual GST Credit and has reached more than 1.6 million British Columbians. Across the country, over 12 million Canadians will benefit from the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit. Sarai says this is an important step for his government as it helps people in need. The benefits will mostly help those families who are earning less than $40,000 a year. The cheques should be arriving this month and sink.
