News From St Ives Town Football Club

The curtain goes up on another football season for St Ives Town when they welcome Mickleover to their Quattro-Tech Westwood Road stadium on Saturday 5 August.

The Ives had a mixed campaign last season which started brightly and included a record-breaking FA Cup run when they reached the fourth and final qualifying round before being knocked out by FC Halifax Town. Despite some indifferent league form after Christmas, the Ives finished their campaign strong meaning they finished well clear of the relegation places.

Manager Ricky Marheineke has kept the core of the squad from last season with key players including top scorer Johnny Edwards signing along with influential defender and supporter’s player of the year, Jordan Williams. Marheineke has also recruited several new faces to strengthen the side ahead of what is sure to be another competitive season.

What’s Next

After the Mickleover game, the Ives face a tough first few weeks of the season which sees them travel to teams such as Nuneaton, Leiston and Coalville who were all impressive last time out. Meanwhile two teams who were relegated into the division from last season namely Leamington and AFC Telford United visit the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road during the first month of the campaign.

And More

It’s not just the men’s first team who are preparing for the new season. The reserve, youth, A Team, and Ladies are all looking forward to the big kick-off in their respective leagues. If you want all the latest fixtures and news from the club, then the Ives can be found on social media or through their official website at www.stivestownfc.co.uk. Here, you can find out the cost of season tickets for first team matches for the new campaign.

Admission prices for first team matches for the new season are:

Adults – £11, Concessions (Over 65) £8

Military Discount (with ID Card) – £5, Students (With ID Card) –£5

U16’s to 12 – £2, U12’s – Free (Accompanied with an adult)

So, if you fancy your football fix, then come down to the Quattro-Tech Westwood Road stadium and support your local team! www.stivestownfc.co.uk.
