HARRIS’ BREAKTHROUGH
While he hasn’t won a world title just yet, the consistent 24-year-old tie-down roper has qualified for the Wrangler NFR four times since 2019; and in 2022, he ended up 11th in the world with over $187,000 in season earnings.
At The American, Harris brought the heat in the final round with a 6.58-second run to take the $600,000 win. So far in 2023, he’s competed at all the major rodeos and is likely to find great success at his hometown rodeo, the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, coming up March 31 through April 14; and while his American win doesn’t count towards the world standings, he’ll have a great kick-start to his summer run as the season carries on.

“There’s been a lot of days I didn’t know if I could do this, but I’ve worked my whole life for it,” Harris said in his post-win interview.
