he holidays on Anna Maria Island are always special — a special time to take an extra moment to offer someone a smile or send a greeting, to give a hug or share words of praise. And, as we approach the 12th month of a difficult year, we find we need the smiles, greetings, hugs, praise — and help. Unfortunately, hugs won’t be part of our holiday this year. But smiles and warm greetings are needed more than ever. We encourage everyone to be safe and ensure kindness to others during this pandemic. In our annual Islander Wish Book, we present the needs of some deserving organizations in our community. These community groups provide assistance to families and individuals, teach and mentor children, assist the elderly and the less fortunate, all with the goal of making Anna Maria
