Do we ever fully uncouple from our younger selves? It is a question that has driven my art for several years now, as I explore my past for clues to identity and purpose.

My memories remain so vivid, that even now I can still feel that child respond to events and people and places and wonder. Perhaps we never surrender that cocoon from which we strive to emerge, that formative mould that forever shapes our lives.

Sometimes I float above this distorted melting pot of interconnected fragments – my homeland collage of El Salvador. For some, these special moments may suggest child-like recollections; inconsequential anecdotes from an unfamiliar culture.
