We provide high-quality, museum-based art education to students of all ages in Billings and the surrounding region. The YAM education team develops its own art curriculum, aligned with MT state art education standards for our K–12 students. Every lesson is inspired by works from our permanent collection or current temporary exhibitions. Each year the YAM’s Young Artists’ Gallery features exhibitions from each of our eight long-standing partnerships with schools. We also work with local professional teaching artists to bring a wide variety of techniques and mediums to our adult learners.
Our goal is to be sure that our art education programs are accessible to all through low-cost, free programming, and scholarships. With your help we can ensure that art and art education is available to everyone!

Dear Friends of the Yellowstone Art Museum,
We are incredibly excited to welcome you to the 57th Annual Art Auction! Our community of artists, donors, sponsors, art enthusiasts, and volunteers, along with the Board of Trustees and staff, rallies to host this fundraiser and its accompanying events. It is truly a team effort, and we are thrilled to see everyone’s work coalesce for this month-long celebration.
Each year, the Art Auction raises crucial support for our museum’s education programs and exhibitions. We are grateful that this season provides ample opportunities to recognize artists, come together as YAM supporters, and inspire upcoming generations of creatives.
Our month of auction programming starts on Friday, February 7th. This evening, we will welcome contributing artists, families & friends, and everyone who wishes to support the auction and museum. During this opening celebration, we will provide a first look at the artworks featured in our live and silent auctions, enjoy a few bites & beverages, and revel in great company. And that’s just the beginning!
Throughout the month of February, you can look forward to Artist Talks with Manette Rene Bradford, Elizabeth Korth, and Mya Cluff. Education events, for adult learners and the whole family, are sure to inspire as Jennette Rasch, Maggy Rozycki Hiltner, and Michelle Dyk lead workshops detailing their own creative processes. We’re humbled that these artists graciously give their time to engage with museum goers.
The Night, Gala & Live Auction, will end the auction on a high note! On March 8th, we’ll gather once again to place final bids, dine together, and exemplify a message we can all stand behind: the arts are terrifically supported in Billings and Montana. You don’t want to miss this special evening!
Artists, thank you for contributing your talent, time, and passion. We couldn’t do this without you! Your commitment to our community and museum is heartwarming, and we’re proud to be your collaborators and fans.
This year’s charitable sponsors deserve our collective appreciation, too. Their support for this event and the museum allows us to continually craft enriching events, education programs, and exhibitions. Thank you for championing the YAM!
Thank you for joining us during the Art Auction! Bid often, bid high, and bid knowing your generosity will be paid forward! We’ll see you in the galleries. Cheers!

Please note that a 15% buyer’s premium will be assessed on all successful Live and Silent Auction bids, including Buy-itNow purchases. The premium is a fully tax-deductible donation that directly supports the stewardship of the Yellowstone Art Museum's building, grounds, and permanent collection.
Silent Auction bidding is free and available in-person and online from, Friday February 7th at 4:00 PM through Thursday, March 6th at 10 PM MST. Register online or scan the QR code.
Buy-it-Now is available on some Silent Auction works and allows the purchaser to claim the winning bid at a premium price, removing the work from any additional bids or sale.
The highest online bid on March 6th does not guarantee a sale. Artwork that has not been purchased through Buy-itNow can still be bid on by attendees at the ticketed closing event, The Night Gala & Auction, on Saturday, March 8th Winning and non-winning bidders will be notified before Wednesday, March 12, 2025 when all events have concluded.
Bidding on Live Auction artwork is only available to ticket holding event attendees and registered absentee bidders at The Night Gala & Auction the evening of March 8, 2025.
Bidders who wish to remain anonymous must register as absentee.
All Live Auction attendees will be pre-assigned a bid number and given a corresponding paddle at the gala. This number is unique to the Live auction and does not need to match silent auction registration.
The Auctioneer has the final say in all bids. In the event of a dispute between bidders, the Auctioneer shall determine the successful bidder or re-auction the item in dispute.
If you are unable to attend The Night Gala & Auction in person, absentee bidding and live phone bidding are available. Participants must register by 12 PM MST on Friday, March 7, 2025. To inquire further and register, please visit artmuseum.org or contact Elaine McClelland at finance@artmuseum.org or 406-256-6804, x223.
Bidders will receive confirmation of their purchase(s) no later than the following Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Artwork must be paid for in full before transfer of ownership. Art remaining unpaid after Sunday, March 16th may be subject to sale to the next highest bidder. Once paid for, purchasers have options for receiving their artwork:
Artwork may be picked up at the YAM by the purchaser, or a pre-designated courier, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, between 10 AM and 5 PM. All artwork must be picked up during business hours before March 21st
Artwork can be packed and mailed domestically at the expense of the buyer. Due to our small staff, purchasers should expect their artwork to be mailed between March 20th–28th. Artwork will be professionally packed, but once it leaves our facility the YAM is no longer liable for the package.
Arrangements may be made for white glove delivery by curatorial staff for Live Auction artwork only. Purchasers must be home or arrange a representative to receive the work during a predetermined delivery window. Please note that deliveries outside of Billings city limits may incur an additional fee. Delivery arrangements must be made with Laura at registrar@artmuseum.org.
Thank you.
The Yellowstone Art Museum wishes to thank these Live Auction artists for their generous, full donations of proceeds to the museum.
