Ring of Fire Labor Day Weekend Celebrated on Canadaigua and Keuka Lakes, the Ring of Fire marks the unofficial end of summer in our region. Held on Saturday night the celebration varies from town to town. The Generational Approach Our approach to great winemaking is generational with each Frank family member building upon the foundation that Dr. Konstantin Frank built over fifty years ago. Continuing this legacy means producing the highest quality wines from the highest quality grapes.

We believe that quality starts in the vineyards with careful attention to detail and nurturing of our old vine vineyards first planted by Konstantin in 1958. These old vine vineyards are among the oldest in the United States. While they produce fewer grapes, the quality of the fruit results in more complex wines.

Over the years, we have discovered that the northern European grape varieties are most well suited for our region and have made it our passion to champion these varieties at our winery. Varieties such as Riesling, GewĂźrztraminer, Pinot Noir and most recently, GrĂźner Veltliner are among the most prized and beloved at our winery.

Our world class team of winemakers are a huge piece of the puzzle here. The team consists of winemakers from New York, California, Australia and Germany. Each team member contributes expertise from their respective region, adhering to the Frank family tradition of excellence.

Continuing Konstantin's legacy also means continuing to spread the word about the quality of Finger Lakes wines. We do this by entering wine competitions all over the world. Customers can also find our wines in many different states. Experience has taught us over the past fifty years that our wine region is and can become one of the most prestigious in the world.

EXPERIENCE BULLY HILL VINEYARDS It’s more than just a tasting room.

Nestled in the hills overlooking beautiful Keuka Lake resides one of the most entertaining wineries in the Finger Lakes. More than just a tasting room, Bully Hill Vineyards is sprawled out over several acres, which makes for a great afternoon of fun!

More than just your typical dining experience, the Bully Hill Restaurant features innovative cuisine with stunning views of Keuka Lake. Whether it’s seafood, pizza, smoked barbecue, freshly prepared salads, or seasonal specials, there is always something new and unique to try. Winery Tours

The winery offers walking tours of the estate and winemaking facility daily during the summer months, (Memorial Day – Columbus Day). Tours depart from the tasting room at the top of every hour beginning at 11am and the last tour of the day departs at 4pm. Now remember this is a walking tour so anyone who has difficulty standing or walking for approximately 30 minutes should opt out, (we will gladly cover the material with those unable to participate).

Greyton H. Taylor Wine Museum & Replica Cooper Shop

Established by Bully Hill’s founder, Walter S. Taylor in 1972, the museum is home to an extensive collection of antique winemaking equipment, Prohibition memorabilia, and historic artifacts from the early NY wine industry. There’s even a collection of Presidential wine glasses dating back to Abraham Lincoln!

The Cooper Shop is a replica to some extent of the Hammondsport Cooperage Company 1875-1915.

The building has an outstanding collection of Coopers tools, along with a 70-minute film of the art of barrel making. Memorabilia from the early days of the New York State wine industry may also be found.

Walter S. Taylor Art Gallery

After approximately 10 minutes the tour will then visit the Walter S. Taylor Art Gallery, (this is in the same building as the museum). Newly renovated, the Walter S. Taylor Art Gallery is filled with over 200 pieces of work from the brush of one of the most creative and provocative artists in the New York State wine industry. Many of the pieces on display will even be recognized as wine labels. There are smaller collections of Walter’s artwork in the tasting room and restaurant.

Souvenirs are a must when visiting a winery. Our gift shop certainly has more than corkscrews and t-shirts. With an eclectic selection of gifts, wine accessories, apparel, and home décor, chances are you’ll find something to take home.

How Well Do You Know The Finger Lakes?

The Finger Lakes is considered a “bioregion” based on the fact they lay within an ecological and geographically defined zone.

The eleven lakes that make up the Finger Lakes are: Otisco Lake, Skaneateles Lake, Owasco Lake, Cayuga Lake, Seneca Lake, Keuka Lake, Canandaigua Lake, Honeoye Lake, Canadice Lake, Hemlock Lake, and Conesus Lake.

Some Fun Facts on the Finger Lakes: Canadice is the highest and smallest; Canandaigua is home to the smallest island (Squaw Island); Cayuga is the longest; Conesus is the westernmost lake; Hemlock is the most underdeveloped and pristine; Honeoye is the shallowest; Keuka is the only lake that runs north AND south; Seneca is the deepest; Skaneateles is the only lake not connected to the Erie Canal System; Otisco is the easternmost; and Owasco has a cold water and a warm water fishery.
