Robert Shepard Brundage Brundage

BATH, NY: Robert Shepard Brundage, age 93, passed away August 26, 2023 in the early morning hours at his home in Bath, NY surrounded by his family. He was the son of Grattan H. and Cora (Carrol) Brundage born on July 22, 1930. He just celebrated his 93rd birthday.

Robert is survived by his loving wife JoAnn Brundage whom he married on April 20, 1968 at St. omas Episcopal Church in Bath, New York and they recently celebrated 55 years of marriage this past April.

Robert grew up on the Brundage farm on the Bath Fish Hatchery Road. In his early years, he attended a one room school house on Brundage Road. He later was graduated from Haverling High School in 1949 where he was an active participant in Haverling sports, especially basketball, baseball, and volleyball.

Robert also was a graduate of the Dunwoody Industrial Institute Baking School in Minnesota. He baked delicious pecan pies and hot rolls. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army 27th Infantry Regiment (Wol ounds) including a tour of duty in the Korean War as a cook... rst day cooking in the rain, pork chops on Porkchop Hill.

In August 1957, Bob began his employment with the United States Post O ce in Bath, NY. He was a rural carrier at rst and then a carrier/clerk at the window where he retired a er 38 years.

Robert was a long time member of the Steuben County Fair Association as was his father Grattan Brundage and brother William Brundage. Bob will always be remembered as the curator at the Pioneer Museum on the fairgrounds. is year was the rst year he did not attend the county fair in his lifetime however he did partake in a fair wa e brought to him by his daughter. He was also a member of the Steuben County Historical Society and with his family was active in the Bath Rod and Gun Club in his younger years.

Robert has three children with whom he always enjoyed spending time with on holidays and vacations together. For over 40 years starting in 1982, they made an annual trip to Ocean City, MD on the Eastern Shore where they enjoyed the sun, the beach, and seafood. He also loved trips to Florida with his wife and family. His children are Bobbi Jo (David) Prusha, granddaughter Chloe Ann; Bonni Lu Brundage, granddaughter Skylar Jade; John William (Christina) Brundage, grandson Robert Henry, all of Bath.

Surviving their uncle are Je rey Brundage and Christine of St. Albans, VT and Bath, NY, Kevin Brundage (Judy Cox) of Corning, NY, Kris and River Brundage of Bath, NY, Scott (Ann) Bradley of Las Vegas, NV, Steve (Lilia) Bradley of Ramona, CA, Debby Kinney Fairbrother of Bath, NY, and Susan (Brian) Whittaker of Corning, NY.

Robert was predeceased by his two siblings - sister Carol Brundage (Nye Bradley) and brother William Gratton Brundage (Arlene Brundage). As well as sister-in-laws Ernestine Biehl and Nellie Biehl Kinney (Homer) along with niece Dianne Bradley Hunter.

Cousins who predeceased Robert were omas and Barb Norman along with Phyllis and Raymond Knobel all of Saranac Lake, NY.

Bob trophied many a deer over the years, enjoyed gardening (his tomatoes were the best), reading Western and Amish books, and loved his New York Yankees.

He leaves behind numerous close loved ones especially Don and Bev Townsend of Bath, NY, dear longtime friends Monika and John Seligman of Cli on Park, NY, Jennifer Gilbert of New Britain, CT and Kerstin Schwab of Goslar, Germany (like two more daughters), Doug and Martha Bigelow of Bath, NY, Cindy and late Matt McConnell tenants of Bob and JoAnn for over 40 years, a close Korean War army buddy Joe Miller and family from Hickory, NC, Dave and late Mary Case from Winter Haven, FL, and Lloyd and late Marian Lewis Northrup also of Winter Haven, FL. Charlie Northrup was a close hunting and shing buddy of Bob's. Robert's family gives special thanks to Dr. Gurdeep Kundlas MD and the medical sta at Ira Davenport Memorial hospital and Fred & Harriett Taylor Health.

Calling hours for family and friends took place Wednesday, August 30th at Fagan's Funeral Home in Bath from 3:00PM - 6:00PM. Funeral services were held on ursday, August 31st at St. omas Episcopal Church in Bath at 11:00AM with e Rev. Dr. Melanie Duguid-May o ciating and burial at Grove Cemetery in Bath, New York.

Donations in his memory may be given to St. omas Episcopal Church of Bath or the Finger Lakes SPCA of Bath.

BATH, NY: Robert James Cartwright, age 80, of Bath, NY died Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. He was born May 27, 1943 in Bath, the son of Francis Charles and Anna (Urban) Cartwright. Mr. Cartwright retired from the Bath VAMC. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou (Mattoon) Cartwright of Bath; sons, Robert C. Cartwright of Lindley, NY, James M. Cartwright of Bath, NY and Nathan R. (Jessica) Cartwright of Pensacola, FL.; grandchildren, Madison, MacKenzie and Austin Cartwright and Dereka Wilson, his brother William Cartwright and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, son Taw A. Wilson and sister Beverly Palmer. PULTENEY, NY: Judy Lou (Marvin) Tyler, 82, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family. She loved spending time with her family, cardinals, her ower garden and Rose of Sharons, playing cards, making wise cracks any chance she got, crossword puzzles, reading, Jeopardy and ice cream. She always looked forward to her weekly visits with Jason Tears and John Crane.

She is survived by her husband, Vrooman M. Tyler; sibling, Shirley Stopka; children, Dorothy (Mike) Bulkley, Rhonda Tyler, Judith (Scott) Campbell, Peter Tyler (Lisa), Virginia (James) Watson, Toby (Barbie) Tyler, Brenda (Robert) Frost, Jesse (Jen) Tyler; as well as 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Judy is predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Dorothy Marvin; and siblings, Wanda Foster and Mary Coots; and son, Stanley Tyler.

To honor her wishes there will be no funeral service. A celebration of Judy’s life took place at 3:00PM on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Pulteney Fire Hall. BATH, NY: It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronnie "Ron" Gene Lewis Sr., a beloved 76 year old, who departed from this world on August 26, 2023, at his home. Ron's journey came to an end, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories, heartfelt connections, and a profound impact on all who had the privilege to know him. With his passing, we celebrate a life lled with love.

Born on November 14, 1946, Ronnie Lewis Sr. was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. He was known for his kind-hearted nature, infectious smile, sense of humor, generosity, and resilience; which touched the hearts of countless individuals. His sense of humor is one worth noting, he could share a joke that would make you have to refrain from spitting your co ee out, but the best part was watching him laugh a erward. His presence was a true gi , and he made a positive impact on the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. Making the world a better place with every interaction. His dedication to his family and friends was unwavering as he did his best to upli and support those around him. He was known to show up for Sunday co ee and family get-togethers with scratch o tickets, sharing them with others because it brought him joy to see others winning. Ron also had a thing for two-pocket annels, if you knew him, you knew this. e pockets served many purposes: to keep receipts and notes about his company, to hold the lotto tickets he shared, to hold treats for the animals he visited, and even to entertain his grandbabies while they sat on his lap and took everything out and investigated what Papa brought over for that day's visit. We will never forget the way he radiated joy in the presence of his family.

Ron's legacy is one of dedication and grit. He graduated from Avoca Central School in 1964, then attended college in Syracuse to go on and earn an Associate's degree. Ronnie built a successful business as an owner/operator of Ron Lewis Trucking for 55 years. He worked all the way up to his last days. But family was his true lifes work. Everything he did, he did for family, the ones he loved. Ron Lewis Sr. was predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Margaret (Stokes) Lewis, and Ann Lewis; his son, Ronnie Lewis Jr.; his sister, Amy Lewis; his brother-in-laws, Brian Deitrick and David Dietrick; his mother-in-law, Anna Marie (Redder) Deitrick and father-in-law Carl Deitrick; and his nephew, Kirk Sun Johnson.

Ron is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane Scotchmer Lewis; his children Todd and (Sara) Lewis of Ocala, FL, Michelle Berrios of Daytona, FL, and Terry and (Sarah Hillman) Scotchmer of Bath, NY; his grandbabies (that is what he called them) Olivia Lewis, Madison Lewis, Courtney Lewis, Haley Chavira, Samantha Chavira, Olivia Scotchmer, Anna-Janel Scotchmer, Caden Lewis, and Lilliana Scotchmer; his siblings omas (Julie) Lewis of Avoca, NY; Judy (Patrick) McMahon of Avoca, NY; Douglas (Cynthia) Lewis of Bath, NY; Joe Paul (Norma) Lewis of Branchport, NY; Lynn (Brock) Potter of Hammondsport, NY; Kavin Lewis of Riverview, FL; Brenda Remchuk of Comanche, TX; Jacqline Schult of Atlanta, NY; Susan (John) Wiker of PA; Robin (Laura) Lewis of Fulton, NY; Clyde (Denise) Lewis Junior of Pulteney, NY and his brother-in-law Steve (Christine) Deitrick. Ron also had many nieces and nephews, as well as three great grandchildren. His "furbabies" will miss him too!

A celebration of Ron's life was held on September 4, 2023, from 1:00PM to 5:00PM at the American Legion in Bath, New York. Family and friends were invited to join in commemorating Ron's life and sharing the stories that made him so special in our lives.

In lieu of owers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Saint Jude's Hospital, in the name of Ronnie G. Lewis Sr. Let us remember him, not with sadness, but with gratitude for the time we had together. His spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
