BATH, NY.; Nancy L. Banach, 60, passed away at home on Sunday August 13, 2023. She was born in Bu alo, New York on August 10, 1963 the daughter of the late Lyle Pickering and Gertrude Gould Pickering.

Nancy grew up in Lyons, New York.

She was a waitress at the Tally Ho in Kanona, New York, and she had worked for the Steuben County Buildings and Grounds for 18 years.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister Deborah Stewert.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Chelsea (Stephen Buck) Hurler, her 3 grandchildren Draven Wilson, Reznor Hurler and Magdalena Buck, and they a ectionately referred to her as Monya. She is also survived by her siblings Sylvia (Richard) Cooper, Tammy (Peter) Guererri, Vernon Pickering, Fay McCray and Tina Pickering, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

She was born in Cameron Mills, NY on June 6, 1952 the daughter of the late Fredorick Sommer and Margaret Solowie Sommer. She worked at the Steuben ARC in Bath, New York. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Martin, Margaret, Fred and John.

She is survived by 2 brothers Charles Sommer and James Sommer, and many nieces and nephews. Her private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Nondaga Cemetery Bath, New York.

The work is carried out in accordance with well-established inspection and enforcement procedures and involves reviewing and approving all plans and specifications submitted with applications for local building permits; inspecting all buildings and structures, both erected and under construction or repair, for compliance with approved plans and specifications and all applicable codes, laws, and ordinances; and enforcing the provisions of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, as well as all other applicable related laws, codes and ordinances. Work is preformed under the general supervision of the local legislative body or top administrative officer, with wide leeway allowed the incumbent for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out inspection and enforcement duties.
