PRATTSBURGH – Morgan Danielle Stratton, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and niece passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 25, in the early hours of August 4, 2022, at Duke University Hospital, surrounded by her Morganfamily.was born July 21, 1997, to Je ery and Jennifer (McCormick) Stratton. She was raised in Prattsburgh and was very proud of being a part of the Lady Vikings basketball team for many years, earning multitudes of awards and helping her team reach many sectional titles. She graduated from Prattsburgh Central School in 2015. Morgan then signed on to play with the Corning Community College Red Barons where she was a cherished teammate and gained many lifelong friendships and connections. A er college, Morgan found her niche at M&T Bank in Prattsburgh, where she became well loved by her peers and the community. A er the closing of the bank, she moved to South Carolina where she tried to nd her place and gain new experiences. At this point, she fell ill and was transferred to the amazing medical team at Duke Univer sity Hospital where she received her second open heart surgery by Dr. John Haney, with few complications and moved home for recovery. Later, a er growing concern, she was taken back down to Duke to have her third, and hopefully, nal surgery. A er surgery, complications arose, and Morgan passed at 2:27 am on August 4, 2022. She had a smile that would brighten any room and a laugh that will never be forgotten. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved Morganher.is survived by her loving parents, Je ery and Jennifer; brother, Nicholas (AnneLisa) Digati; sister, Brooke Stratton; niece and nephew Aubree and Owen; maternal grandmother, Kathryn West; boyfriend, Joshua Johnson; dog Millie; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A er serving in the Army from 1960 to 1962, he returned to Wayne where he met his wife, Janet L. Rodney was employed by Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport, NY for 43 years. He was a manager at plant 4 and 6 until his retirement in 2006. Once retired, he could be found puttering around outside his home that he and his wife devoted much of their time to maintaining. He was always finding new projects to keep himself busy, as he was unable to sit Onstill.July 24, 1964 he married the love of his life, Mary, whom he spent 55 years with. In Rodney's spare time, he enjoyed hunting and hunting trips to Idaho and Canada. He also could be found in his workshop building flower planters, which are now found all over the northeast. He enjoyed passing time with his grandchildren/ great Hegrandchildren.wasaone-of-a-kind man. He was always there for others. He loved spending time with his grand children and great grandchildren, showing them things that would often get him into trouble. He was generous, funny and loved with his whole being.
