HAMMONDSPORT, NY: e Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home, 35 Main St., Hammondsport is honored to assist Bob's family with the arrangements.

Robert H. Bailey took his last ight ursday, January 26, 2023. He was born in October 1926 in Mineola, Long Island to Ray and Cornelia Bailey. Bob graduated from Roslyn High School and then attended Oswego State College until he joined the U.S. Army in 1945. He met and married the love of his life, Marie Wilkinson in 1950. Together they had four children, Marge Peaslee (Rick), Bob (Kathi), Ron and Amy (Lew). Bob had a passion for aviation, learning to y as a member of the Hammondsport Flying Club. He went on to become the rst professional pilot for Great Western Winery until he le there a er he earned his instructor rating in 1967. Bob's pilot career also included managing the Hornell Airport, instructing, and ying charter ights. He retired in 1985 as Corporation Chief Pilot for Egret Aviation. Besides aviation, Bob's hobbies included "tinkering", gardening, and shing. One of his great accomplishments was building his family's home where he resided since 1955. He also was an avid hockey player and was on the ice until he was 77 years old.

Bob was predeceased by his son Bob, and grandson Michael Peaslee. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marie; brother David (Lona), two daughters Marge and Amy and son Ron, eight grandchildren along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial will be planned for the Summer.

PENN YAN, NY: Katie B. Burkholder, age 74 years, 11 months and 30 days, passed away suddenly, Saturday, January 28, 2023, at home.

Katie was born January 29, 1948 to the late Harvey Z. and Katie O. Sensenig of Ephrata, PA. Katie was a homemaker and a member of Country View Mennonite Church, Old Order Midwest Conference.

Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Rufus M. Burkholder, Sr.; children, Ellen Nolt (Amos), Irene Nolt (Nathan), David Burkholder (Ella), Martha Nolt (John), Rufus Burkholder, Jr. (RoseAnn), Lois Jane Zimmerman (Samuel), Katie Marie Sauder (David), Nathan Burkholder (Mary Alice), Mary Sauder (Gerald) and Lucinda Horst (Mervin); 79 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of Penn Yan, NY.

Also surviving are siblings, Minerva Martin (Noah) of New Holland, PA, Ada Horst (James) of East Earl, PA, Elsie Hoover (Aaron) of Lititz, PA, Arlene Zimmerman (Arthur) of Penn Yan, NY, Harvey Sensenig (Edna) of East Earl, PA, Marvin Sensenig (Lydia) of Shippensburg, PA, Ellen Martin (Allen) of Rushville, NY, Anna Rebecca Hoover (Leon) of Himrod, NY, and Mary Jane Leid (Ervin) of New Holland, PA.

Katie is pre-deceased by her parents and children, Elaine and Harvey Lee; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Ivan Sensenig and Moses Sensenig.

Friends, family and neighbors were invited to a viewing at home on Tuesday, January 31st from 1:00PM to 3:00PM and 5:00PM to 7:00PM.

The Funeral was held on Wednesday, February 1st at 9:30AM at Country View Church.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, New York.
