Vulnerable animals like Jack (pictured above) are counting on

Because of the kindness of shelter supporters, Jack’s life was saved, and he has recently been adopted into a loving home! However, on intake, poor Jack was injured, emaciated, weak and in pain. His jaw had been degloved making eating painful. He was also parasite ridden, had an eye infection and was very hungry. Thanks to immediate veterinary care and a surgery to sew his right lip back on, antibiotics, pain medication, ear mite treatments and ear cleanings, deworming, flea treatments and lots of nourishing food and love. Jack’s suffering was ended and his life was saved. He also received vaccinations, was viral tested, neutured and micro-chipped. We have so many animals coming through our doors (like Jack) in need of critical and routine medical care to become healthy, happy and adoptable.

Titan and Cole (pictured above) were also admitted to our shelter needing a great deal of help. Titan recently received a cranial cruciate ligament repair surgery and is on the road to recovery. He is hoping to be able to be made available for adoption soon. And, our good friend Cole (who is adoption ready) received a gelding surgery and dental float. Both boys also were provided with routine health care like deworming and vaccinations.

BATH, NY: Virginia L. “Ginny” Sutton, age 72, passed away peacefully Friday, November 25, 2022 at her sister's home in Bath, New York.

Ginny was born February 25, 1950 in Bath, New York. She graduated from Campbell Central School and then attended Corning Community College. She was employed at Steuben County in the Public Health Nursing Department, retiring after 35 years.

Ginny had a flair for decorating and gardening, which could be seen at her former house on William Street in Bath, New York.

In later years, she met and resided with Bruce Dennis, until his passing last year.

Ginny was predeceased by her parents, Dean and Shirley Platt Weale.

Ginny is survived by her sister Linda (Pat) Muller of Bath, NY; her brother Richard (Carol) Weale of Owego, NY; nephews James (Rachel) Force and Adam Weale; niece Andrea (Roko) Peros; several cousins and eight great nieces and nephews.

The family received friends at Phillips Funeral Home in Corning, New York on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Those of her family that predeceased her were her husband of 45 years, Walter Reed; her parents, Raymond and Flora Perkins; brother, Joe Perkins; sister, Margaret Coots; and her twin sister, Deanna Geyer.

She is survived by her brother, John Perkins; and sister, Rebecca Jordan.

The Lord blessed Diane with a lot of nieces and nephews. Jesus indeed placed her in the right place and she has a special prayer for all of you. Special thanks and love to my niece Wendy and Tim for taking me in and caring for me, love you. Also, to the Care First Hospice Team.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special meeting of the qualified voters of the Bath Central School District shall be held at the District Office in said District, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 8:00 P.M. Shall the following resolution be adopted to wit: Resolved that the Board of Education of the Bath Central School District is hereby authorized to undertake certain capital improvements consisting of construction and reconstruction of existing school buildings and facilities, various site improvements and the acquisition of certain original furnishings, equipment, and apparatus and other incidental improvements required in connection therewith for such construction and school use, all at an estimated maximum aggregate cost of $42,500,000; and to appropriate and expend from the existing capital reserve fund $1,000,000 for such costs, and that the balance of such cost, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax to be collected in annual installments, with such tax to be offset by state aid available therefor; and, in anticipation of such tax, debt obligations of the school district as may be necessary not to exceed $41,500,000 shall be issued.

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the text of the aforesaid proposition may appear on the ballot labels in the following abbreviated form:

AND NOTICE IS GIVEN that military voters who are not currently registered may apply to register as a qualified voter of the School District by requesting to be registered by the District Clerk at (607) 776-3301 or dpatterson@bathcsd.org. Registered, qualified voters of the School District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk at the phone number or email address listed above.
