BATH, NY: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William P. Hawk.

Bill was born July 15, 1938 to James and Margaret Hawk and he le us suddenly on September 29, 2023.

He is survived by his siblings, Robert (Bonnie) Hawk and Marcia Stasch; his son, Mark (Sara) Hawk.

Although only one child shared his name, others were privileged to call him Dad; Melissa Bishop, Craig (Trish) Collins and Erin Austin. Bill was also survived by his grandson Blake Hawk, he was also called grandpa by Kathryn Bishop, John Bishop, Ethan Wooley, Natalie Wooley, Cameron Collins, Lauren Collins, Gareth Austin and Rylie Austin. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews and treasured friend Barb Rice.

Bill loved his life serving his community of Bath, as a lifetime member of the Bath Fire Department, where he was Chief from 1975-77, also as an EMT and treasurer for the Bath Ambulance Corps. Bill was employed at BGE where he retired a er 36 years. Bill's life touched so many fortunate enough to know him, with his positive attitude and can do nature. He was a motor sports enthusiast and classic car collector. He raced and crewed all his life. In his later years, Bill spent time with his son and grandson building and racing drag cars, which gave him so much joy. When not in the garage, he could be found sailing at Keuka Lake with his brother, or shing a stream in Pulaski. If you knew him, you know how much he will be missed.

Calling hours were held at Fagan's Funeral Home, ursday, October 5, 2023 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM with a memorial service at 3:00PM, followed by a graveside service and burial in Grove Cemetery, Bath, NY. A reception will follow at the Bath Fire Hall. In lieu of owers please donate to the Bath Fire Department.

BRADFORD, NY: Otto Welzel of Lamoka Lake passed away peacefully at home on September 18th, 2023 at the age of 87.

Otto was born in Corning, NY on March 30th, 1936 to the late Otto and Mary Kosty Welzel. He is survived by his son, Jay Welzel of Osceola, PA.

Otto served in the US Army and retired from Steuben County Department of Social Services.

He was a graduate of SUNY Oswego and Alfred State University. Otto lived a quiet-simple life on Lamoka Lake for over 40 years.

As per his request there will be no calling hours and a he will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Corning, NY. Memories of Otto may be shared with his family and friends at www.vedderscottzinger.com

BATH NY: Duane F. Creeley, age, 82, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Fred & Harriet Taylor Health Care Center in Bath, New York.

He was born in Blossburg, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1941 the son of Harold and Gertrude (Hilliard) Creeley.

Duane worked and retired from the Bath VA. He loved to play the piano, play card games with his family and friends and, also liked to garden.

He was predeceased by his wife Ruth Bender Creeley of 55 years, and was also predeceased by his brother Edward Creeley.

He is survived by his six children Karen (Steven) Ne , Kevin Creeley, Kimberly (Je ) Rathburn, Kenneth (Trina) Creeley, Keith (Patti) Creeley, and Kristopher (Sarah) Creeley; his brothers and sister Larry, Carol, Harold Jr., Paul, and Ron; 12 grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren and one great-grandson on the way. e family were present to receive family and friends on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell. A Funeral service was held on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 2:00PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo, New York
