PENN YAN, NY: Phebe L. Hoover, age 51 years, 11 days; of Penn Yan, New York was called home to join our Lord & Savior on Sunday, December 25, 2022 following a battle with cancer.

Phebe was born December 14, 1971 in Denver, Pennsylvania to Titus H. and Sara H (Leid) Nolt. On October 31, 1991 she married Eugene Z. Hoover; and together founded Windy Acres Farm. Mrs. Hoover was a member of the Old Order Groffdale Conference - Gravel Run Mennonite Church.

She is survived by her husband Eugene Z. Hoover; 13 children, Nathaniel (Ruth Ann) Hoover, Aaron Eugene (Susan) Hoover both of Penn Yan, Rosetta (Mark) Leid of Watkins Glen, NY, Dorcas (Paul) Sensenig of Malone, NY, Anthony (Lucinda) Hoover of Dundee, NY, and still at home, Jane, Julie, Glenn, Timothy, Ruth Elaine, Amy, Luke, and Darlene Hoover; and seven grandchildren.

Additionally, she is survived by her parents, Titus and Sara Nolt of Penn Yan; ten brothers and four sisters all of New York.

Also grieving the loss of their daughter in-law are Ivan and Barbara Hoover and family, all of New York; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kaylene E. Hoover.

Friends were invited to call from 1:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the family home, 4171 Route 14A, Penn Yan, New York 14527. Her funeral services began at the house at 8:45AM, and continued at 9:30 AM on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Gravel Run Mennonite Church, Ray Crosby Road, Dundee, New York. Burial was in adjoining Church Cemetery.

John Grimaldi of Savona, NY passed away a er a short illness at the age of 82.

John was born on January 15, 1940 in Savona, NY to omas and Luella Grimaldi. He graduated from Savona Central School. John worked at the Ingersoll Rand for 45 years.

John married Allie in 1973 and they were married 50 years. John enjoyed his family, hunting, shing and his multiple walks with his little girl Lucy.

John is survived by his wife Allie; his children, Anna Divens, John Grimaldi, Joe (Karen) York, Beth (Bill) Tompkins as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his siblings; Fred Grimaldi and Nick Grimaldi.

John was predeceased by his parents omas and Luella Grimaldi, his brother Jim Grimaldi and children Jesse York and Gayle VanderVeer. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Condolences may be made at www.fagansfuneralhome.com

However, on intake, poor Jack was injured, emaciated, weak and in pain. His jaw had been degloved making eating painful. He was also parasite ridden, had an eye infection and was very hungry. Thanks to immediate veterinary care and a surgery to sew his right lip back on, antibiotics, pain medication, ear mite treatments and ear cleanings, deworming, flea treatments and lots of nourishing food and love. Jack’s suffering was ended and his life was saved. He also received vaccinations, was viral tested, neutured and micro-chipped. We have so many animals coming through our doors (like Jack) in need of critical and routine medical care to become healthy, happy and adoptable.

Titan and Cole (pictured above) were also admitted to our shelter needing a great deal of help. Titan recently received a cranial cruciate ligament repair surgery and is on the road to recovery. He is hoping to be able to be made available for adoption soon. And, our good friend Cole (who is adoption ready) received a gelding surgery and dental float. Both boys also were provided with routine health care like deworming and vaccinations.
