Both sides Of The Map Rob makes maps because he loves to make maps. He has also created many public and community art projects. Both strands of work – public and personal - are journeys into new areas, taking his artwork along a twisting, winding path through ever changing contemporary cultural landscapes. The maps are a collection of observations about where the artist finds himself and what is around him.

This exhibition then, is divided into two aspects. The first presents how maps have influenced some of Rob’s recent public art projects, whilst the second shows how Rob uses maps to dive into favourite or fascinating geographies when he is not working to commission. “ I have curated this exhibition as a psycho-geography of Herne Bay and the surrounding area. It’s where I have lived for 16 years, so each work has layers of meaning for me. I hope others will find something familiar here”
