SOUTHWICK — After over four years, the site for the 100unit condominium project at 42 Depot St. is being prepared for construction. “They are ready to start the project and are excited about it,” said Conservation Commission Coordinator Sabrina Pooler, who visited the site on July 16 with Dipal Pandya, the president of New Jersey-based Aum Builders Inc., the developer of the project. Over the last several weeks, the vacant house on the property has been razed, and silt fencing to control any potential erosion issues has been installed, said Alvin Allen, who is the town planner and economic development director. He is also excited about the potential impact the development will have on the town’s economy. “With that many units being built, it should spur economic development on College Highway,” Allen said. The town’s Economic Development Committee has been pushing to have the rail trail connected to College Highway. The proposed route would run along the edge of the condominium project, and EDC Chair Greg Deily said several months ago that Pandya was open to the idea. The project, which has yet to be named, will offer a mix of oneand two-car garage units on the 22-acre property. The units with a one-car garage will have 1,700 square feet of living space, while two-car ga-
