Q&A
WITH LIGHTING DESIGNER & TNP INTERN
DAVIS PARKER
d and how did you fin Where are you from rnship program? out about TNP’s inte
1.
I am from Maryville, Tennessee, and I heard about the intern program by finding a posting on offstagejobs.com.
2.
What’s a typical day for you here at the theatre? A typical day for me would be making sure that anything involving lighting is working properly. This could include tasks such as changing lamps in fixtures, checking wiring on practicals, or refocusing fixtures.
3.
Tell us how you prepare with fellow staff for a production - what’s that process like ? The way I prepare with fellow staff usually starts with the scenic designer. I need their ground plan and once I have that, I am able to start making a light plot and figuring out what fixtures need to go where. Then I usually talk conceptually with the director and try to understand their vision for the production. The moment when the director gets to actually see my design is during tech week. The process here has been highly professional and enjoyable.

4.
How often do you get to work with our volunteers or your fellow interns? All of the volunteers I have worked with have been a delight to be with. As far as my fellow interns I must say, it has been one of the most successful groups of people I have ever worked alongside and lived with. It would be amazing if I am able to work with any of the other interns in the future.
5.
plans What are your future for theatre? My future plans include working as a scenic carpenter and electrician for the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, Tennessee. I am incredibly excited to start working for this theatre and to be making art in my home state.
All of us at TNP wish Davis luck with his next steps! To find out more about internship opportunities at The Naples Players, contact: COLE BUTCHER PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER/INTERNSHIP DIRECTOR cbutcher@naplesplayers.org (239) 434-7340, ext. 125

LUCY MULLIN.........
ANNALISE TAVARES
I’m a 5th grade student at St. Ann (and I love my school). I’m totally into Greek mythology and am a bit of an expert. Acting is my chosen career: I dream of someday being a Broadway star! I have been in the plays Ebeneezer Jr., Junie B. Jones, and Annie, and I have also done choir. My favorite movie is Peter Pan because of the idea of a fantasy world that I can fly to. I’m excited about this performance because my Grandfather was a Shakespeare professor and I’ve never done comedy before.
This is going to be my first stage production ever and I am super excited! I have been interested in theatre for about four years now, and was in one of the KidzAct classes last year. I hope to become a Broadway actress someday, and my dream is to be in a production of Falsettos.
