Kia ora, nau mai to The Learning Connexion’s Term 4 Student Exhibition
H e m a h i toi a n g ā manawā tītī A r t works of Pe rseve rance The Learning Connexion school of Creativity and Art combine holistic art thinking education with the realities of commercial practice. We encourage all our students to express their individuality and deepen their understanding of personal responsibility to themselves, to others, and to the world in which we live. Studying and learning creativity offers multiple directions in life. To be a change-maker is to think creatively. Our graduates have become artists, designers and creatives working in a wide range of disciplines from all around the globe. To learn more about our successful graduates, or become a change-maker yourself visit tlc.ac.nz or call 0800 278 769. Please note: There may be strong language included in some artwork.

Reinvent your future! by Jonathan Milne
All times are strange. COVID-19 has drawn attention to problems that have been present for a long time. Plagues are not new, although we’ve become better at spreading them. It’s fair to say that life is dangerous. Creativity is TLC’s focus and it involves coming to terms with danger. We encourage you to build skills that enable you to reinvent your future. This requires us to think for ourselves.
TLC is both conservative and creative. Our core values are conservative. TLC’s school agreement says: Look after yourself; look after others and look after the environment. We have to stay alert in a way that may be challenging. Does it mean that we have to change the world by ourselves?
No and yes. It takes skill to decide what we can TLC is at odds with the practice of meekly doing change and what is a waste of energy. as we’re told. Much of education belongs to that To some extent each positive individual action tradition and the rewards come for getting the changes the world. Individually the changes are right answers and behaving nicely. Creativity small, although collectively they may be large. might feel threatening because it questions We are optimistic that we can work together for tradition. creativity that is in harmony with our world. Comfort, otherwise known as complacency, is a far bigger threat. It anchors us helplessly in the Curiosity and conversations are a way of life and they never stop. That’s why TLC is here and why past. we have worked together. Be kind and stay open to your creativity. Enjoy your journey!
