Basic Picture Framing

Sculpt a Wall Mounted Figure

Here is your chance to create a sculptural form using ‘bas relief ‘ technique which can be mounted on a wall for indoor or outdoor display. Explore the possibilities from textured tiles to 3D wall-mounted sculptures, then prepare your creation for firing using best practice techniques. This is an exciting and challenging class where you can learn how to prepare your work for kiln safe firing, finishing techniques and mounting. Suitable for beginners and students with some knowledge of clay.

Make a Knife

Ever wanted to make your own knife? In this 3 day class over two weekends, learn how to develop a design then forge and grind a piece of spring steel into a wonder- ful kitchen knife perfect for slicing, dicing and chopping. Note - finishing details of the knife may be required after completion of the class. Follow-up instruction will be provided, if required, during class. Suitable for all levels. Minimum age is 13, though if under 16 will need to be accompanied by a supervising caregiver or parent.

Jewellery - Open Studio

Our open studio evening class provides a relaxed environment in which you can learn or expand your jewellery making skills. As a beginner, you will learn basic techniques and the safe handling of tools. As an intermediate or advanced student, you may wish to improve your skills in a particular field of jewellery making (for example, stone setting), have a go at trying a method new to you, or continue working on your project from a daytime class. This class will suit students at all levels of jewellery making.

Have you ever wanted to have a go with one of the most fundamental mediums on the planet? Here’s your chance to create your own vessels and sculptural forms using clay. Learn some simple hand-building techniques which will enable you to construct vessels and sculptures easily. Learn basic glazing techniques with readymade glazes. This fun-filled class is suitable for beginners and students with some knowledge of clay.
