Basic Picture Framing

Learn the skills and techniques of picture framing using professional equipment with tips and advice on how to do this at home with basic tools. Bring along your artwork or sentimental pieces that you have held off framing, and create your own framing masterpiece. Suitable for all levels.

Sculpt a Wall Mounted Figure

Christine Fagan 7th & 8th Nov

Here is your chance to create a sculptural form using ‘bas relief ‘ technique which can be mounted on a wall for indoor or outdoor display. Explore the possibilities from textured tiles to 3D wall-mounted sculptures, then prepare your creation for firing using best practice techniques. This is an exciting and challenging class where you can learn how to prepare your work for kiln safe firing, finishing techniques and mounting. Suitable for beginners and students with some knowledge of clay.

Make a Knife

Dennis Berdinner 21st & 22nd Nov & 5th Dec

Ever wanted to make your own knife? In this 3 day class over two weekends, learn how to develop a design then forge and grind a piece of spring steel into a wonder- ful kitchen knife perfect for slicing, dicing and chopping. Note - finishing details of the knife may be required after completion of the class. Follow-up instruction will be provided, if required, during class. Suitable for all levels. Minimum age is 13, though if under 16 will need to be accompanied by a supervising caregiver or parent.

Jewellery - Open Studio

Natalie Halley | Tuesdays

Our open studio evening class provides a relaxed environment in which you can learn or expand your jewellery making skills. As a beginner, you will learn basic techniques and the safe handling of tools. As an intermediate or advanced student, you may wish to improve your skills in a particular field of jewellery making (for example, stone setting), have a go at trying a method new to you, or continue working on your project from a daytime class. This class will suit students at all levels of jewellery making.

An Evening with Clay

Have you ever wanted to have a go with one of the most fundamental mediums on the planet? Here’s your chance to create your own vessels and sculptural forms using clay. Learn some simple hand-building techniques which will enable you to construct vessels and sculptures easily. Learn basic glazing techniques with readymade glazes. This fun-filled class is suitable for beginners and students with some knowledge of clay.

Contemporary Painting and Drawing

What is drawing and painting in today’s age of expansive visual media? They are vital and powerful hands-on media which can help you to manage your creative thoughts and help you to become a more effective communicator. These classes will help you to bring out your personal language, your story, to the best of your ability while being informed by the contemporary creative practices around you. There will be room in each session to develop your personal work and to get one to one feedback from your tutor. All ideas, and visual art forms as inspiration are welcome. Suitable for all levels.
