Jewellery, Body Adornment Sculpture - From Form to Firing
Christine Fagan 22, 23 & 29 February | 10am - 4.30pm Here is your chance to create a sculpture of a bust which will be fired. You will learn how to set up a basic armature, sculpt a likeness from an image you have brought, then prepare your sculpt for firing using best practice techniques. The busts will need slow drying of 3-4 weeks before bisque firing. You can pick up your work after the firing. During class we will discuss paint finishing or how to use oxides requiring a high fire. I don’t encourage glazing of busts. The class is challenging enough without losing the work at the glaze stage. This is an exciting, challenging class where you will learn how to prepare your work for kiln-safe firing, finishing techniques and mounting to exhibition standards. Suitable for all levels. 07
