INTRODUCTION
Words of welcome by the Chairman of the Chatham Historic
Dockyard Trust Admiral Sir Trevor Soar KCB OBE DL and The Leader of Medway Council Councillor Vince Maple.
SERVICE PRAYERS
In peace let us pray to the Lord. We pray for the leaders of the nations, that you will guide them in the ways of freedom, justice and truth.
Lord in your mercy,
All say: Hear our prayer.
We pray for those who serve in the Armed Forces of the Crown, that they may have discipline and discernment, courage and compassion.
Lord in your mercy,
All say: Hear our prayer.
We pray for our enemies, and those who wish us harm, that you may turn the hearts of all to kindness and friendship.
Lord in your mercy,
All say: Hear our prayer.
We pray for the wounded and the captive, the grieving and the homeless, that in all their trials they may know your love and support.
Lord in your mercy,
All say: Hear our prayer.
ACT OF COMMITMENT
Lord God our Father, we pledge ourselves to serve you and all humanity, in the cause of peace, for the relief of want and suffering, and for the praise of your name. Guide us by your Spirit; give us wisdom; give us courage; give us hope; and keep us faithful now and always.
All say: Amen ALL
STAND
ACT OF REMEMBRANCE
The Minister says
Let us remember before God, and commend to his sure keeping: those who have died for their country in war; those whom we knew, and those whose memory we treasure; and all who have lived and died in the service of humanity.
Another shall say
They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them
All say: We will remember them

REVEILLE THE KOHIMA EPITAPH
Read by: Brigadier (retired) Peter Gilbert QVRM TD DL VR
When you go home tell them of us and say; ‘For your tomorrow, we gave our today.’
Most Holy God and Father, hear our prayers for all who strive for peace, and all who yearn for justice. Help us, who today remember the cost of war, to work for a better tomorrow; and, as we commend to you lives lost in terror and conflict, bring us all, in the end, to the peace of your presence; through Christ our Lord.
All say: Amen
Gathering our prayers and remembrance into one, let us pray with confidence as our Saviour has taught us.
All say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name thy Kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever Amen
THE NATIONAL ANTHEM
God save our gracious King! Long live our noble King! God save the King! Send him victorious, Happy and glorious, Long to reign over us, God save the King.
THE BLESSING
Go forth into the world in peace; be of good courage; hold fast that which is good; render to no one evil for evil; strengthen the faint-hearted; support the weak; help the afflicted; honour everyone; love and serve the Lord, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you and remain with you always.
All say: Amen
Spectators are requested to remain in position while the parade marches off.
