This guide will assist you with the following: Request an Account and Login to EICDataStream Understand Searching and setting Search Preferences View Results and access detailed Project Information Add your own Notes to a specific project Set up and manage Favourite Lists Export data in PDF or CSV format Quick Search options Graphical Analysis Setting up User Accounts (for nominated representatives)

EICD EICData ataS Stream tream User Login If you already have an account you can access EICDataStream via the website, www.the-eic.com Once logged in click the EICDataStream tab to access the database.

Request an Account To request an account contact your nominated representative by following these simple steps: Click on the EICDataStream tab and then click on ‘Account Management’ then ‘Apply for Member Account’. Enter your company name, click ‘Find’ and select your organisation. Once you have completed the form below click ‘send’ to notify your nominated representative who will set up your account. You will then receive an email notifying you of your login details.

Note: Once logged in you can change your password under ‘Account Management’.

EICDataStream Navigating the initial search page

Auto Logout dialog. Refreshes back to 40 minutes on each new search. Reload search page. Search for projects by country using the interactive map. Search for projects alphabetically. List of new projects added in the last 28 days. Manage favourite lists (see page 9). Create graphs. Download previously created reports. Run search and proceed to results. Run a full database text search. Clear all previously entered values.

EICDataStream Understanding Search Criteria You can mix and match search criteria to help find the specific projects you are looking for. Below is a description of each of the search criteria available.

EICDataStream Customising your search page You can customise your search page and make it individual to your login.

1. Click ‘Search Preferences’. 2. Select criteria based or text based searching. 3. You can hide filters you don’t use and change the order they appear. 4. ‘Highlight Weeks’ refers to how many weeks worth of updated information will appear in red. This makes it easy to identify new information. Change the week number to suit your requirements. 5. You can select to search on Active, Future and Archive projects. 6. Select your preferred currency. Both the original and your preferred currency (at the current rate) will be shown in the project detail. 7. Click on ‘New Search’ to reload the search page in your desired format.

EICDataStream Understanding the results summary

The ‘Search Results’ summary lists all projects that match your search criteria. The Project Navigator is an alphabetical listing of all the matching projects. Projects in red are those which have changed or been added to over your selected period of time. You can change the page size to be displayed. You can also switch to another page number within your results. By clicking on any of the headings (apart from operators) you can sort your search results. Favourite lists - see page 9. To view the detailed project information click anywhere on the project itself.

EICDataStream Individual project information

The ‘At a Glance’ section contains a full project profile including links to other associated projects and external web resources. The area on the right includes the status of the project, value, start up date, project scopes etc. The country (or Countries) of each project are listed along with the specific locations and links to maps where appropriate. Feedback is encouraged although this is not a forum for asking questions. All information received is carefully vetted before entry onto the database. On each project you will also find individual sections containing details on the folllowing: • Operators/Developers • Contractors • Bidding Activity • Bidder History • A history of the activity of the project with the latest notes listed first

EICDataStream Notes facility

At the bottom of each project is an area to add your own notes. This information is held by each individual member company therefore only staff within that organisation can add, delete and view these notes. No one from the EIC or any other member company has access to any information held within the notes facility. If the notes section doesn’t appear as below instructions on how to set the facility up will appear in their place. Once the facility is set up you will also notice a project link that can be cut and pasted into your own projects tracking or CRM system.

EICDataStream Setting up a favourite list By adding projects you’re focusing on to a favourite list, you will automatically receive email updates as soon as any data is added or changed.

Select the project(s) you wish to add to your new list. Click on the ‘add to:’ dropdown and select ‘create new list’. Click on the icon and a message will appear confirming your selection has been added. Click on ‘Manage Favourite Lists’.

Rename your list so you can add further projects to it rather than creating a new list, click save. There is no limit to how many favourite lists you can have. Ensure the ‘Enable Delivery’ box is checked. If you wish a colleague to receive your email notifications (you may be travelling or on holiday) enter an alternative delivery address, check the relevant box and click save.

EICDataStream Setting Share Permissions to a favourite list By default all users within your organisation can view and edit all favourite lists. You can edit the permissions of each list by following these steps.

Click the Sharing button. A list of all users within your organisation will appear. You can set permissions by clicking on the individual. Select their role, see below. If they require email alerts as well you check the enable delivery box. You can also select an alternative delivery address if necessary. Click on the tick to save the changes.

Can add and remove projects and delete the entire list. Can add and remove projects but can’t delete the list. Can view the list but can’t make any changes.

Note: To remove an individuals view and access to a favourite list entirely click on the ‘X’ to the right of their entry.

EICDataStream Exporting data to a PDF You can create custom reports, based on your initial search results, in either detail or summary format by following these simple steps.

Select the projects you wish to report on from your search results. Select a detail or summary report and either all or selected projects. You can give your report a file name (no spaces) and description, Select the time scale for recent changes to be highlighted and how many months worth of notes you require. You can also sort your results by country or main operator. When complete click the send request button and you will be notified by email when your report is ready for collection. The link in your email will take you to the Available Reports page and just click on the Download button to retreive your report.

Important: • Remember to check back online for any updates for projects on your report. • Please ensure that all EICDataStream project information is retained within YOUR company. • Always exercise discretion in revealing your sources when contacting any named persons on EICDataStream.

EICDataStream Exporting data to a CSV file You can export all the top level information from your search results for further manipulation and analysis in your chosen spreadsheet application.

Click the ‘CSV’ button (No selection needs to be made). Either open or save your data for future use. Analyse your chosen data set.

Fields exported include: • Project Name • Project Status • Project Location • Operator • Value • Start up Year

EICDataStream Quick search options Rather than using the initial search screen you can jump directly to projects as long as you know either the location or the project name.

Click on ‘Projects Tracked’ to access an alphabetical listing of all projects. Click on ‘Geographical Analysis’ to invoke the world map. Click again to zoom into a region. Hover your cursor over a specific country to see the value and number of projects being tracked. By clicking on the country an alphabetical listing of projects in that country appear. You can then click on the specific project to view the detailed information.

EICDataStream Graphical Analysis Although you can create your own graphs once you have exported your search results to a CSV file you can also create quick graphs by following these steps:

Click on ‘Graphical Analysis’. Enter a title for your graph. You can also choose a resolution and how you wish the data to be analysed. Select a region and a project scope. Click to create graph.

Note: To save your graph right click and select ‘Save Picture As...’

EICDataStream Setting up user accounts The nominated representative or chosen account manager can manage user accounts.

Click on ‘Account Management’. Click on ‘Manage Users’. Click to create a new user account. You can also disable an account or remove a user (click on the ‘X’) at this stage. Enter the users details and click on ‘Create’. A new account is created. Click on ‘Save & Notify’ to save the account and create an email that can be sent to the new user detailing their username and system generated password.
