Hip Hop: Bridging the Gap between the West Coast & Pacific Northwest When one t hinks of West Coast Hip Hop, let 's be honest , okay, cit ies like Port land and Seat t le don't really come t o mind. The Bay Area is so much in a lane of t heir own that folks don't really t hink of San Francisco or Oakland when referring t o West Coast Hip Hop...or even Gangst a Rap for t hat mat t er. And if you're a Born & Raised Angeleno , even peo ple fro m surro unding count ies like San Bernardino and Riverside are seen as excluded from t he origins of West Coast rap.

Now, wit h all due respect t o t he Pacific Nort hwest , t hey've had t heir own scene for decades! But , who considers t he Pacific Nort hwest apart of urban "West Coast " cult ure? Sir-Mix-A- Lot wasn't Eazy E. So, while t he World t urned t heir ears t o Los Angeles, Compt on, and Long Beach over t he past 20-30 years, cit ies like Seat t le & Port land developed t heir own local music

scenes and t oday boast s some of t he richest local music herit age in t he count ry.

Wit h 2019 approaching, we have a new breed of Hip Hop art ist s t hat are not only looking t o make good music, but nurt ure a sense of communit y across local music scenes all over. Pasadena, CA rapper Bing Bing is a st andalone art ist who's t aken personal int erest and init iat ive in helping unit e t he local music scene in his t own.

Aft er spending years net working, part icipat ing in communit y out reach, and int erviewing hundreds of art ist s, Bing Bing branched out t o Seat t le, WA t o connect dot s and build relat ionships.

Through his net work, Bing Bing was int roduced t o Legendar y Seat t le Hip Hop art ist Sunt onio Bandanaz t hrough Los Angeles/P asadena based rapper Mr. McSt range. Since meet ing, Bing Bing invit ed Sunt onio Bandanaz t o feat ure on his lat est single in an effort t o begin unit ing t he West Coast wit h t he Pacific Nort hwest .

The song is about showcasing t he anger, frust rat ions, and failure one endures when st riving t o become a bet t er individual.

Bing Bing let s t he passion flow as he spit s lyr ics t hat have weighed his heart . Sunt onio Bandanaz follows up on t he 2nd verse wit h a lyr ical t ale about st riving t o make change.

M-Dot - Ricochet (Prod. By Whatson) Cuts By DJ Access

On "Ricochet" Boston emcee M-Dot travels abroad (to Germany) and fires a verbal reprisal at lackluster "spitters." German producer Whatson handles the boards providing a soul screeching backdrop with DJ Access on scratch duties.

Vegan Rapper Drops Diss Track Against SeaWorld, The Circus, and The Zoo

The 19 song CD also features songs by some current Sunset Recording artists like Richtaste, Han Drabur, Respect, Joe Atman with the Riohc Choir, Federal Moguls (DJ Q Ball’s (Bloodhound Gang) side project) and Mister Sir while it licensed in tracks by established and legendary acts that are notably against animal cruelty by artists such as Vegan Boss, Gina Thompson and Bob Marley. Meet Fashion Designer "Devon Hamwright" from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I am a Philadelphia fashion designer and illustrator. I am a graduate of Philadelphia University Alum. I have interned for Philadelphia Fashion Week. I recently participated in Atlantic City Fashion Week. I have received invitations to showcase my collections at Ready-to-Wear Fashion Week and SOHO Fashion Week. I am also a sewing instructor working from Moore College and also book house calls for students.

Hip Hop loses a Legend, Craig Mack

Craig Mack, one of the artists who laid the foundation for Bad Boy Records, has died, the label's former director of marketing Michelle Joyce confirmed. He was 46. No cause of death was immediately released, though Joyce said he had been ill for some time.
