CATCHING THE RUGBY BALL WITH SPIRAL :
Catching a pass that is spiral differs largely from any other types of passes in rugby. That is because often the trainees as well as the players would try passing on the ball to another player by using a typical spiral pass or having at least, the right hand position so that they do not end up fumbling with the ball while moving in their effort to release the ball and lose possession.
The passing hand, or the main hand that is going to exert the thrust on the ball at the moment of its release has to be in the optimal position so that it is possible to transfer the ball with the top spin that is needed to send the ball spiralling in the air. While doing so, the other hand has to be dropped inside so that you will be able to extend the releasing hand and rotate it as much as you like to give the ball the needed thrust, spin, distance and force, depending on the distance it is meant to travel.
