The Serendipity Arts Festival invites artists and creative practitioners to propose experimental interventions in the urban realm of the city of Panaji. This project was executed through this competition as a ‘non-library’.

Our proposal engages with this wonderful idea of reading a book in the forest creating a node – a light, minimal enclosure that can playfully house the library and other programming including small skits, readings and recitations, as well as evening performances.

Interpretation of Tadao Ando's work through nature/culture divide 2023

Course : Architectural Obsessions

Ando uses concrete and light to create abstract spaces that he claims evoke harmony in the human-nature relationship. The identity of the cross in his work is unlike any other conventional cross. The presence of the god body is expressed through the absence of material. Tadao Ando, changes the western symbol of the cross, denoting the pain and suffering for the sins, to an abstract emptiness, that depicts the Buddhist idea of death, to rest in peace.

Interpretation of Italo Calvino's city of Thekla. 2023

Course : The City - A Multiple Perspective

Construct

Since the city is primarily founded in the idea of construction, all the socio-economic structures are built through the act of constructing. The city will fall into abyss if the city reaches its absolute. Absolute means the completion of the city where no more construction is required, it has reached is perfection and the city would no longer require the people. If the construction comes to a halt, all ideas of structure, both figuratively and literally would fall apart. The blueprint is the mode of sustenance for this city. The designer has taken the fall of the city into account, and he had used structures like the Penrose tribars and stairways and other impossible shapes to make up the blueprint. The shapes are ones that cannot have a 3 dimensional form, thus it is impossible to build them. `
