THE MANAGER’S CORNER

“September: when friends reappear.” I realize some of you won’t reappear until October or November, but we are so looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces along with some of the new ones.  I hope that you will be happy with the changes we have accomplished this summer.

I was born and raised in Illinois, so I really miss the color changes of fall.  But that’s okay, fall is still my favorite time of year. So, here’s to September: awkward, charming, and full of potential (and lattes - especially Pumpkin Spice).

It’s time for everyone to start inviting friends and family to join us this year and earn some money for a referral.  For every RV that books as a Seasonal Guest, we will take $200 off your rent or reservation. Can’t pass that up. We have already had a couple of people that are going to get a bonus.

WHY CHOOSE QUAIL RUN RV RESORT?

GEM IN THE DESERT

Let me list the many reasons you should come to Quail Run for a visit or a lifetime change: Come in your RV (wonderful specials) or purchase a new or used Park Model (lots of options and price ranges, some with one year’s free rent)

Quail Run is located in a small unincorporated town in Arizona City, AZ. Exit 200 off Highway 10 (Sunland Gin Exit), which is 3 miles from town. You won’t hear any Highway or Railroad noise in our quaint resort. We are located 10 miles from Casa Grande, AZ, which has every shopping, hospital, doctor, dentist, and restaurant you could ask for. We are also halfway between Phoenix and Tucson without all the hustle and bustle of city life.

I always say the greatest amenity of Quail Run is the people. Just a drive through the park and everyone waves and talks to you. During High Season (October through March) you can be as active as you choose to be. The men gather in the Cantina early morning for coffee, then some excuse themselves to go play a daily game of horseshoes. People start gathering for exercise classes or line dance classes in the Roundup Room, or maybe they take in one of two daily sessions of water aerobics. We have new Bocce Ball Courts and Pickle Ball. Then there is the miniature golf course that gets the competitive blood flowing among our members. We also have pool tables and dart room that get quite a bit of use. I also must mention all the different card and domino games going on daily. We have Thursday night regular bingo and Wednesday Card Bingo, plus Poker nights on Mondays! We have a carnival in January with games, food trucks and fun for everyone! Every February for a solid week is Senior Olympics: Olympic torch, gold, bronze, and silver medals and lots of laughs and fun.

For all you motorcycle enthusiasts, we have a wonderful group of members that go traveling every Tuesday morning. Then of course we have the ATV group that loves to ride in the desert and the mountains. Never a dull moment in Quail Run.

For you people that love Live Bands and dancing, starting with the Halloween Party and going through to the Goodbye Dance in March, we have something several times a month. We have Happy Hours around the fire pits, and you get to meet your neighbors. We have potlucks with wonderful food and please don’t miss Thanksgiving or Christmas.

For the sightseers that love bus trips with others, we have MARY’S BUS ADVENTURES. Mary is an individual that organizes different bus adventures every year from a definite must do – Barleens Christmas Matinee (musical Christmas show plus a wonderful meal) to overnight trips to Mexico.

THE PREACHER’S PEN

September Whispers: A Porch Conversation on Peace and Preparation

September always feels like a quiet pivot, the heat slowly releasing its grip, the days shifting toward gentler light. Whether you’re sipping morning coffee on the porch or watching your pup chase leaves, there’s something tender about this month. It reminds me of God’s rhythm: steady, intentional, full of grace.

We’re entering a season that speaks of gathering and preparation. Apples ripen, gardens slow down, and we start thinking about sweaters and soup. Spiritually, it’s much the same. God nudges us to consider what we’ve harvested this year, not just in our yards, but in our hearts. Have we grown in kindness? In trust? In forgiveness?

Psalm 81 has been echoing in my spirit lately. It begins with a call to sing aloud, to celebrate God’s strength. But then it shifts, the Lord laments that His people won’t listen, won’t accept the good He longs to pour out. It’s a heart cry: “Oh, that my people would listen to me...”

So maybe September is a time to lean in. To clear some space. To say, “Lord, I hear You.” That doesn’t mean big dramatic change—it might just mean keeping company with Him a little more often. It might look like peace in our conversations, or grace toward someone who’s hard to love. Maybe it looks like hope—stubborn, quiet, and holy—in a world that often feels too loud.

If you’re feeling a bit worn out, if the summer rushed past and you’re catching your breath, you’re not alone. God’s invitation is still open: come sit awhile. Come harvest peace.

Wishing you rest, purpose, and the loveliest kind of new beginnings this September.

With grace,

ACTIVITIES CORNER

MARY’S BUS ADVENTURES

I am getting excited and looking forward to everyone coming back. We have so many new faces, I look forward to getting to know everyone. First I want to apologize, my computer decided it was too old and worn out so I had to get a new one. I am behind on getting checks deposited for all those wonderful folks that are joining me for Quail Run’s 3rd annual Christmas tour. I am very excited and can’t wait to see all the smiles when you go to Barleens Christmas Matinee, Chandler’s Tumbleweed Christmas Tree and lights. Then I know everyone is going to love the Tianyu Light Festival. I went last year and was totally astonished. I can’t wait to share this experience with you all.

I may add another short Christmas trip. I am meeting with those folks at the end of August and hope to have that information to you soon.

I met with the owner of the hotel in Rocky Point. He is happy that we are going to come back. He has been very helpful with many aspects of the tours. We plan on having 2 this season. A 3 night 4 day and a 2 night 3 day. I am working on getting those details finalized.

Remember to contact me directly for tour information and questions.

Safe travels, see you all soon.

Our Beloved Pastor Dennis Callahan went to be with the Lord, August 13, 2025.

He fought the good fight but finally said “Thy Will Be Done!”

Dennis touched so many lives and will never be forgotten.

His personal life story showed the “Truth of the Word” and that God has a plan for all of us if we will listen.

Desa will let us know more about the Celebration Of Life service she is hoping will be in November.
