I came into Thacher thin king that the imperfection s in the world, those parts where the wor ld seemed to fall short, wer e trivial when compared to the goo d parts of the world, and that, in the end, good (whatever that was) would always win out. I left Thacher believing that impe rfections were, in fact, esse ntial to the world, because they create opportunities for people to seek a better state of being, ince nt growth of spirit and community, and fundamentally create a not ion of good that is dynamic instead of static and stagnant.
