From the Director Jumping at the chance to direct "Terms of Endearment,” I was absolutely thrilled when given the opportunity to direct for my first show with TGRC. It was the perfect play to showcase my directorial skills. The Special Connection I Have with This Play As a daughter raised by a single mother, this play holds a special place in my heart. I see many similarities between my own mother and Aurora, who always strived for nothing but the best for her daughter. Even though there were times when it felt like my core was being dismantled, I knew that her intentions were selfless and that she only wanted to help me grow. It's important to appreciate the sacrifices that our parents make for us, especially when they are raising us alone. They work tirelessly to provide for us, to ensure that we have a roof over our heads, food on our plates, and clothes on our backs. But more than that, they want us to succeed and be happy in life. I'm grateful for the lessons my mother taught me, and for the love and support she's given me throughout my life. I hope that this play can inspire others to appreciate the sacrifices of single parents, and to recognize the strength and determination it takes to raise a child alone. Life is full of ups and downs, and it can be difficult to navigate all of the twists and turns that come our way. But in this mother-daughter tale, we see how the power of love and friendship can help us overcome even the toughest of obstacles. From the joy of a new life entering the world to the heartache of a relationship ending, this story takes us on a journey through the many stages of life. Along the way, we witness the unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter as they support each other through all of life's trials and tribulations. So sit back, relax, and allow yourself to be swept away by this touching and inspiring tale. The audio or video recording of this production is prohibited.

Synopsis “Terms of Endearment” tells the fictional tale of Aurora Greenway and her daughter Emma, as they confront the challenges of life and navigate through a complex mother-daughter relationship. Although Emma is often displeased by her mother’s blunt words, they confide in each other daily. Aurora wrestles with being a grandmother, while Emma grapples with problems in her marriage. The story unfolds to reveal the highs and lows of Aurora and Emma’s lives, including Emma’s cancer diagnosis and Aurora’s struggles with love. Despite numerous obstacles that come their way, their bond is repeatedly tested, and each time they manage to come out even stronger and more connected.

Cast Bios Maddie Barham is excited to be back on the theatre guild’s stage! She currently spends her days telling stories with the kiddos at Rockingham County High School. Enjoy the show! Michael Reid Carter feels blessed to be in his first TGRC production. He hasn't been on a North Carolina stage in 50 years! The last time was Wentworth High. He dedicates his performance to everyone who has a dream and, as always, to Stephen. Randy Dockery is performing in his first community theater play and is very excited to be on stage with TGRC. He loves the arts and has been part of several church productions. He has been part of TGRC for 10 years and really loves the organization. He is employed with Cone Health going on 24 years. Kathy Glendenning is happy to be back on stage at TGRC. Previous shows she has done here include Southern Hospitality, Welcome to Mitford and The Homecoming. You may have seen her in shows around the triad including The Savannah Sipping Society, Making God Laugh and Peace, Love and My Mother in Law (The Barn Dinner Theatre), Steel Magnolias and Sweet Delilah Swim Club (HPCT), Mamma Mia, On Golden Pond and Kinky Boots (TA), Greetings (ARTC) and God of Carnage (Studio 1). Kathy would like to thank the cast, crew and production team for welcoming her in and her husband David for being her number one supporter. Thanks to all the audience members who came out to support live theatre in our area! Matt Hughes is in his 2nd production with TGRC, after being away from the stage for 20 years. He was reminded how much he loved the stage during his time in The Music Man (2023). During the Music Man he became a member of TGRC. He's excited to be portraying Dr. Maise. Once "Terms of Endearment" concludes he plans to audition for "Oklahoma". Matt wants you to know he is not a doctor, he just plays one on stage.
Cast Bios Brandyn Myers is an actor, photographer, and theatre technician local to Rockingham County. Brandyn is a '22 graduate of Greensboro College, where he earned a BFA in Musical Theatre. Since graduation he has worked nonstop in the performing arts. Recent credits include: Set / Lights for “Bright Star” (TGRC), Set for “Into The Woods” (CTG) Educational Tours (The National Theatre for Children), Lewis Cass / Ass. Technical Director for “Unto These Hills” (Cherokee, NC), Dennis Sanders in “Smoke on the Mountain” (Barn Dinner Theatre / TGRC). Brandyn is thankful to return to the stage yet again with TGRC! Follow him along his journey on social media @brandyn.myers Riley Suthard is a current senior at RCHS and has been a part of TGRC for 7 years. This is the 27th show that she has performed in. She hopes you all enjoy the show!! Danny Tanner has been part of the TGRC family for almost 7 years, portraying roles such as Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast), Brick (Escape to Margaritaville), and many more! Whether on stage or off, Danny has found a second family and enjoys bringing these stories to life! Karamie Walsh is so excited and blessed to be on stage in her first play with TGRC! She loves teaching dance at Melanie Paschal’s Dance Creations and spending time with her family and “Chip”. She thanks you so much for coming and hopes you enjoy the show!

Production Staff Bios Tabatha Carsus joins TGRC for the third time – this time as Director. Tabatha previously graced the TGRC stage as Ethel Toffelmier in Music Man and as the Well Dressed Woman in Bright Star. With vast experience in theater, some of her most memorable roles include Nancy in Oliver, Mdm. Thenardier in Les Misérables, and Val in A Chorus Line. Tabatha is also a proud owner of Hippie Chick'n Soaps and Apparel. As Artistic Director of Wicked Tap Crew and Dance Company Carolina, she is a true creative force. Caiti Apple is enjoying her second time Stage Managing a show with TGRC. Some of her previous shows include Escape to Margaritaville, and Bright Star where she ASM’d. She is super excited to be a part of this show and looks forward to working many more. Evan Tanner likes to build stuff.
