After reopening our doors in October 2025, the response from our audiences and island community has been nothing short of extraordinary. We returned to a full house, with many early events — including An Evening Shared with Jasper Carrott & Rory Bremner, Fascinating Aida, and Gilbert O’Sullivan — selling out. Your support, excitement, and enthusiasm have made it clear: Jersey was more than ready to have its theatre back.
It feels good to be home, and even better to be looking forward.
This new season brings a rich mix of live performance, music, comedy, film, and family entertainment — a programme that reflects both the variety our audiences love and the creative future we’re dedicated to building.
We are especially proud to present ArtHouse Jersey in partnership with the Jersey Opera House, with Held in the Tide, a bold new opera created and performed by artists born in Jersey and developed with young Islanders. Rooted in our landscape, our history, and our people, it promises to be a truly special moment for the island.
Families also have plenty to look forward to, including the mischievous mayhem of Horrible Histories, returning with joy, chaos, and hilarious lessons from the past.
And this is just the beginning. From music and dance to comedy and drama, our stage continues to celebrate local talent alongside acclaimed visiting artists — with more to come throughout the year as we continue rebuilding, growing, and dreaming big.
Thank you for welcoming us back so warmly. For filling the seats, sharing the laughter, and reminding us why theatre matters. We are proud to be your theatre, and proud to share this next chapter with you.
With warmest wishes, The Jersey Opera House Ltd Team

Ballet d’Jèrri presents an evening of choreographic premieres with live music.
Ballet d’Jèrri invites you to an evening of world premieres, framed with music at its pulse and reimagined through the eyes of today’s choreographic voices.
Curated by pianist Anika Vavić and performed live (in duet with distinguished violinist Rémy Ballot), the musical thread underpins seven new works by choreographers already carving their names into the international dance world, including some Jersey-based perspectives: Stanley Young, Hannah Joseph, Daniel Davidson, Noemi Andreotti Coin, Tabi Dombroski, duo Anna Daly and Donovan Délis-McCarthy.
Each choreographer brings a unique gesture to the dialogue between movement and score, tasked with testing the boundaries of what contemporary ballet can become while honouring its heritage.
Musical Notes
Anika Vavić (Viennese pianist, born in Belgrade) is known for her sensitive, probing interpretations of the classical canon — unveiling hidden tensions and setting private dialogues with her collaborators.
Rémy Ballot, a French violinist and conductor based in Vienna, studied under Gérard Poulet and was a pupil of Sergiu Celibidache. He remains active as both soloist and conductor, particularly acclaimed for his interpretations of Bruckner.
Together, their musical partnership underscores the evening — not simply as accompaniment, but as a living, responsive force shaping or counterbalancing each dance’s architecture.
This is more than contemporary dance to classical music. It’s a conversation: a chance to hear emerging choreographers respond to great scores, and to feel the tension between tradition and invention. For audiences, it’s a rare opportunity — one evening, many voices, all in touch with classical roots and the impulse to break new ground.

A storm. A shoreline. A trio of longburied stones re-emerge. So begins Held in the Tide, a bold new opera exploring identity, belonging, and the things we hold on to when everything is shifting beneath our feet.
At its heart are two Islanders: Lillie, a geologist returning home after years away, and Frances, a local artist who never left. When a trio of ancient stones are uncovered in the sand, it sparks a chain reaction of tension, reckoning, and an unexpected connection between past and present, global ambition, and local memory, progress, and preservation.

This is an opera, but not as you know it. Expect powerful live music blending classical, folk, and electronic influences. Relatable characters share big ideas supported by a chorus of local voices that surges through the story like the tide itself. At times funny, moving, and deeply human, this is a story that will make you laugh, think, and perhaps see yourself reflected in its cast of Islanders, returners, and dreamers.
Led by Jersey-born mezzo-soprano Georgia Mae Bishop, and performed by a professional cast of seven Jersey-born artists, Held in the Tide is the result of a collaboration between young Islanders

aged 18-30 and a team of world-class opera-makers. Developed through open workshops and creative exchanges as part of Raise Your Voice,Jersey!, this is what happens when a community comes together to tell its own story - made with care, by many hands, for all of us.
Whether you’re an opera regular or have never set foot in a theatre, this is your invitation to experience something extraordinary. In a time when questions of home, identity, and belonging feel more urgent than ever, Held in the Tide reminds us that community isn’t just something we
inherit. It’s something we shape; together.

Support Your Island’s Theatre Charity
As a registered charity, the Jersey Opera House relies on the generosity of our community to help keep the arts alive. By sponsoring a chair in our newly restored auditorium, you’re not just marking a moment — you’re directly supporting the future of a cultural charity at the heart of Jersey.
This is your chance to celebrate a memory, honour a loved one, or simply show your support while helping safeguard the island’s artistic heritage for generations to come.
• Support a Charity – Your contribution directly funds the Opera House’s charitable work and ongoing preservation.
• Leave Your Mark – Dedicate a chair or celebrate your connection to theatre.
• For Everyone – Individuals, families, schools, and businesses are all welcome to take part.
SUPPORTER — £300
• Name or short dedication engraved on one chair for three years
• Commemorative certificate recognising your support
CORPORATE SPONSOR — £500
• Business or organisation name engraved on two chairs for three years
• Commemorative certificate recognising your support of a local cultural charity
Availability is limited, and chairs are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
