The Henley College Timeline

1778

The Henley Grammar School was formed.

1892

King James’ College merged with the South Oxfordshire Technical College, forming The Henley College as we know it today.

1987

1604

A free grammar school was founded in Henley. The foundation of the United Charity School brought together the free grammar school and Dame Periam’s Charity School.

1873

The School of Science and Art and Technical Instruction was formed.

1976

The Henley Grammar School became a sixth form College, known as King James’ College.
