Please be aware that children and young people (under the age of 16 years old) are not permitted to attend public events at Ferneham Hall, as a lone member of the audience, without a responsible adult (18 years and over) or parent/carer who is attending with them. Where Ferneham Hall is hired for an event which may involve children and

young people; whether as guests or as performers, responsibility lies with the Hirer to manage their own safeguarding arrangements. Parents need to ensure that they are comfortable with measures the Hirer has put in place for any activity. Evidence of these arrangements will also be required from the Hirer; please be prepared to provide a copy of these at the time of booking.

Welcome Our final brochure for 2019 details a carefully curated programme which will take us through to the end of the year. This is also the final programme before our planned closure in January 2020 for a period of approximately two years whilst Ferneham Hall is transformed into a new Arts, Community and Entertainment venue. The season finishes with our traditional family pantomime, in partnership with Jordan Productions. This year Eastenders and Dancing On Ice star Matt Lapinskas and Eurovision’s Nikki French headline in Beauty and the Beast. But before then we have plenty to keep you entertained between September and January. Big names in the music world, including Radio 2 DJ Tony Blackburn, 60s stars The Trems,The Swinging Blue Jeans and The Fortunes and pop legend Joe Brown. Top tributes include welcome returns of sell-out shows paying homage to Queen, The Eagles, Luther Vandross, The Carpenters, Whitney Houston and ABBA. Whilst new shows to us include productions covering the songs of The Bee Gees, Carole King and a world-renowned Elvis in Vegas stage show. We are also delighted to bring to Ferneham the Christmas version of our guaranteed sell-out That’ll Be The Day. Regular favourites Buddy Holly & The Cricketers, Upbeat Beatles, Oh What A Nite!, Let’s Hang On, Everly Brothers Dream, Purple Zeppelin and TRextasy are also all back for a last hoorah! Local societies include FMS with South Pacific and Towards Zero, SDMS with Oklahoma! and Stage One with High School Musical. If song and dance is your thing then Bodyrox presents their show in November, as do the Russian National Ballet with the Christmas favourite The Nutcracker. Comedy is covered with the return of Lee Nelson headlining our popular Laughter Live! night in October, and Interalia’s Blackadder’s Christmas Carol coming up with a ‘cunning plan’ to tickle our ribs in December. Exhibitions include Fareham Art Group, a wonderful Rock and Gem show, One Community and our autumn Antiques Fayre. We will

welcome the the Royal Marines Band here in December before we go full-on with our panto. Ferneham Hall was built in 1982 and, since that time, myriad famous faces have graced its stage (some of whom are highlighted on the back cover).  It has also been well supported by local groups. For almost four decades, staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to bring an extensive range of entertainment to Fareham, and enjoyed serving you, our loyal customers. Whilst 2020 marks the end of an era, the changes we are making will enable us to attract an even wider programme that will include bigger and better shows. We look forward to welcoming you back to Fareham in the not-too-distant future, to what will undoubtedly be a notable new Arts, Community and Entertainment venue for the whole region to enjoy. The Team at Ferneham Hall

Please help staff by taking rubbish with you when you leave or use the many bins in the venue. INTERVAL DRINKS In order to avoid congestion and delayed service on busy show nights, there may be a facility for pre-ordering interval drinks from bar staff. Parties of ten or more can also pre-order interval ice creams. STANDING/DANCING It is the nature of some events that audience members will stand/dance. Refunds will not be made on these occasions but we may be able to re-seat you. Please ask the Duty Manager or a member of our stewarding staff if the problem occurs.
