"A TEAR-INDUCINGLY FUNNY SHOW”

The Guardian on The Play What I Wrote

"YOU LEAVE THE THEATRE FLOATING ON A CLOUD OF HAPPINESS”

Daily Telegraph on The Play What I Wrote

Don’t miss this sensationally funny celebration of the legendary comedy duo Morecambe and Wise.

Packed with riotous comedy and musical routines, The Play What I Wrote is brought to you by the team behind last summer’s The Hound of the Baskervilles and of course Eastbourne’s beloved Devonshire Park pantomimes.

When The Play What I Wrote opened in London’s West End it garnered, rave reviews and now will be bringing Eric and Ernie’s ‘Sunshine and Smiles’ to Eastbourne this August. You see, Dan has written a play, set in the French Revolution called “A Tight Squeeze for the Scarlet Pimple”. Ben on the other hand, wants to continue with their own double act. Perhaps a tribute to Morecambe and Wise, would fulfil both their dreams? But first they need a guest star to appear in the play what Dan wrote? Who could they get?

Joining Eastbourne favourite Ben Roddy, Daniel Crowder and Marc Pickering will be one special star guest at each performance. Sue Holderness, Michael Praed, Joe Pasquale and Lee Latchford-Evans are waiting in the wings, who will you see...

The sensational story of the Mitford sisters.

The Mitford girls cut a glorious, glamorous swathe through pre-war high society, amidst the glittering world of debutantes and dukes. But as Fascism rises and political storm clouds crackle over country houses, the bonds of sisterhood are threatened by new and treacherous desires.

Amy Rosenthal's compelling, touching and witty new play explores the true story of a family riven by political extremism, seen through the eyes of Jessica (Decca) Mitford as she battles to stay true to her sisters and her beliefs.

Nancy aspires to be a celebrated novelist, Diana and Unity fall for the dangerous, charismatic leaders of the Far Right in Britain and Germany, and Debo sets her cap at a Duke. Meanwhile Decca crosses continents in her own passionate pursuit of love.

The Party Girls stars Kirsty Besterman (National Theatre’s Macbeth), Joe Coen (Leopoldstadt), Elisabeth Dermot Walsh (Doctors), Emma Noakes (Royal Shakespeare Company’s The Rover), Ell Potter (Cheaters) and Flora Spencer-Longhurst (And Then There Were None).

RICHARD COYLE is ATTICUS FINCH

Aaron Sorkin’s riveting, award-winning stage adaptation of the seminal American novel about racial injustice and childhood innocence became a Broadway and West End sensation with star studded sell-out seasons on both sides of the Atlantic. Now this thrilling courtroom drama comes to Eastbourne.

Acclaimed stage and screen actor Richard Coyle (Heads of State, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Fantastic Beasts and Player Kings) returns to this iconic production of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird as Atticus Finch, reprising the role he played to great critical acclaim in the 2022 West End Production.

Encouraging kindness and empathy in his children, Atticus is pushed to the limits of these qualities himself when he resolves to uncover the truth in a town that seems determined to hide it.

Oscar winning writer Aaron Sorkin's stage adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird is paired with Bartlett Sher’s visionary direction. Set in 1934 Alabama, To Kill a Mockingbird was inspired by novelist Harper Lee’s own childhood and has sold more than 45 million copies worldwide. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature and was long at the top of the banned book lists.
