St. Vincent Award Honorees
Team of Professionals The team at St. Vincent’s Westchester rose to the many incredible challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic with courage, professionalism and complete dedication to keeping our patients, residents and employees safe—all while coping with the pandemic’s impacts on their own lives. St. Vincent’s treated patients with COVID-19 and mental health issues from throughout the county so that general hospitals could treat more COVID patients. Staff embraced new technology almost overnight so they could continue to provide remotely the care and support very vulnerable clients needed. Program operations had to be adapted so that those who needed in-person services could receive them safely. Staff went into the community to bring food to clients unable to leave their homes. Support services employees kept everyone fed, implemented an extensive sanitizing program and even built a movable wall so that COVID-positive inpatients could be isolated.

The client created this mandala inspired art as a therapy tool, as a way of dealing with her depression, and to enlighten and assist with the healing process. The mandala symbolizes unity and harmony. Proceeds from the sale will enable St. Vincent’s to continue to help others.
