“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” John 8:12
Each year we have over 5 million visitors and it’s a great tradition “to light a candle at Saint Patrick’s” when people visit. We needed peace of mind that we were using a safe and clean method for lighting those candles. Damage from smoke is virtually a thing of the past since our transferring solely to the St. Killians System. Rev Robert T Richie, Rector, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, New York, USA.
Installed in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, New York, USA, since 2011
“Lord Jesus Christ, Light of the world, You have overcome the darkness of sin and death. As I light this candle, I offer my prayers to you. May this light be a symbol of your presence with us, and may my prayers rise to you like the fragrance of incense. Hear my petitions and grant me your grace. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.”
Installed in the Shrine of Pope John Paul II, Kraków, Poland, since 2015
Almighty God who art the Light of the world, grant us Thy heavenly blessing. May the radiance of Your Light illumine our hearts and brighten our home with the spirit of faith and love. Let the Light of Your Presence guide us, for in Your Light do we see light. Bless us also with Your Spirit, that happiness and peace may ever abide in all men.
Since their introduction in November 2014 the candle shrines have been received very well by parishioners and visitors alike. The lit candles in the shrines throughout the Cathedral add greatly to the prayerful atmosphere as visitors enter. The revenue from the candles helps greatly in maintenance and upkeep of the Cathedral. Fr. John McCarthy, St. Colmans’s Cathedral, Co. Cork, Ireland.
Installed in St. Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh, Ireland, since 2014
