TEXELS EXCEL AT WINTER FAIRS
he Texel Sheep Society continued their sponsorship of the ever popular Winter Fair Prime stock Championships this year and saw the breed taking many of the top titles. The Society would like to congratulate all the exhibitors in the Prime stock shows Ă? who are showing without any doubt the benefits of the breed.

SCOTTISH WINTER FAIR 2008
The supreme sheep championship was won by Andrew Bishop from Pitfield Farm, Eldersfield, Gloucestershire with this pair of purebred Texel wether lambs.
The reserve Supreme overall pair also came from A D Bishop of Pitfield Farm, Eldersfield, Glos with their Dutch Texels.
Mrs Frances Henderson presenting the Texel championship awards to Brian McTaggart and his wife with their Texel champion pair. The McTaggarts trade as Douganhill Farms at Orchardton Mains, Palnackie, Castle Douglas, Dumfriess and Galloway.

The Supreme Championship lamb carcase was a Dutch Texel from Andrew Bishop of Pitfield Farm, Eldersfield, Glos.
ROYAL WELSH WINTER FAIR
The Supreme Champion carcase title went to Robin Slade of Orchardview, Marston, Pembridge, Herefordshire for his Dutch Texel which weighed in at 37 kgs liveweight, and killed out at 21 kgs deadweight. Best pair of purebred butchers lambs were exhibited by Peter & Carol Houldey from Hill Farm, Hasfield, Gloucester, with their purebred Texels.
Whilst the Reserve in the butcherテ不 section were this pair from Robin Slade of Orchardview, Marston, Pembridge, Herefordshire.
