I am honored to be awarded Broker of the Year 2020. Working through such a challenging time in our industry really brought to light the importance of our team effort at Texas Ranch Sales. The entire company came together and set goals for each team member to strive for. Working together we exceeded our goals and set an extremely high bar moving forward. Each individual award for 2020 was truly a reflection of our TRS teams combined effort. I am proud to be a part of such a great team and look forward to another great year in 2021.

Winning a Top Ten award and The Ringer award in 2020 during my first year with TRS was a very gratifying experience. I had spent years trying to compete with this awesome company but they had made it pretty tough for me.

Matt Franek

When I first started at Texas Ranch Sales, my broker and COO Dave Wilcox repeatedly told me, “Keep kicking that rock, Matthew; I promise you the hard work will pay off!” I trusted him and he was right. With the support of the TRS staff, hard work and countless miles on the highway-I became the Top Grossing Sales Associate of 2020. It’s an accomplishment that was made possible with input from several far more experienced agents and brokers, coupled with the backing of the TRS brand. I am fortunate and proud to be a part of this incredible ranch brokerage; but the best never rests, it’s 2021 now and my projections have me doubling last year’s sales. I could not be more excited for the future.

Kris Groda

For only being with the company for 2 months and then winning my award for Largest closing came as a complete surprise to me. I work with some of the biggest and best agents in the state of Texas and to accomplish that with Texas Ranch Sales, well, that was really something to me. It showed me that my brokers have the upmost confidence in me to get the job done and that means a lot. I was also very fortunate to have a great friend in my client who kept the faith in me to find the perfect ranch for him. A lot of long hours and a lot of miles, but the persistence and desire got the job done. I would do it again in a minute as we also had lots of laughs and saw some really beautiful country.

Gene Palmieri

I’ve been in the business 14 years. Soon after working with Sheldon on a ranch sales call, I accepted the opportunity to work with the TRS team in 2015. It was a great decision. I thoroughly enjoy working with people and assisting them in reaching their dream of land ownership. I live the ranch life and have hands-on experience in raising cattle, horses, game fish, pond management, brush and pasture ecology, water and mineral rights. These attributes allow me to be a valuable advisor, turn customers into clients, and form the basis of my mantra: Relationship Selling. Backing my work ethic is the best marketing team in the business at TRS. They present me and my listings in the best possible light. I sincerely appreciate receiving the Founders Award for 2020 in recognition of my efforts and results.

Tully Janszen

Earning the “Rookie of the year” award was truly a surprise to me. Upon joining Texas Ranch Sales I told myself to earn the right to be called the best don’t just take it for granted. I set a goal to be at the top of the list of the newer agents that joined, however I didn’t let it distract me. I kept my head down and just kept after it, with a lot of hard work, not getting discouraged and prayer at the end of the year my name was called. It truly is a honor achieving something like this among so many talented associates and having the opportunity to represent the brand like Texas Ranch Sales. Winning a award like this really fueled my fire coming into 2021 to keep the momentum rolling. My top goal coming into 2021 is to earn the right to be called top 5 in the company. My dad always told me son If you work hard at what you do and enjoy it good things will come and you will never feel like you work a day in your life.

Mike Ford

Having a family member in Real Estate, my mother Molly Ford, for almost 50 years, I always wanted to be part of the Ranch Real Estate business. As life led me to get my Real Estate license and my mother about to retire, I looked HARD for the perfect fit. Knowing tons of people across the great State of Texas, it gave me insight on who was getting the job done. That fit my lifestyle and goals. I kept coming up with Texas Ranch Sales. Formally being a deer breeder had introduced me to Sheldon Grothaus, and even though quite a bit younger than myself. I could tell he was motivated, had a plan, and was willing to work hard to accomplish his goals. When Sheldon came to my ranch to meet about working with TRS, had dinner with my wife Lori and my mom, mother said the next day, “Son you better saddle up with these boys, I believe they know what they are doing.” That was enough for me. I will forever be grateful at the opportunity TRS has given me. Everywhere and everyone you leave a Journal with, has seen it, or knows about it. I could not have found a better fit. Janelle Charles

What a wonderful surprise it was to receive the Top Hand Award for 2020. It was extremely humbling and a huge honor to be voted on by my colleagues. Being with the Texas Ranch Sales for the last four years it has be amazing to see where our company has grown and all the hard work our team has put in. It is a blessing to be a part of this exceptional team! I would like to thank my amazing husband Roy, for his continued support and my parents for their support and instilling in me hard work and dedication. Looking forward to 2021!
