After we offered the pick of our May born gilts last year, and one of those May’s ended up being Reserve Supreme at Texas Elite, we thought we would do something similar with our purebred hogs
As pictures indicate, we’ve had a really fun run with our Berks and Durocs over the past couple of years. This will be an opportunity to buy your pick of the Berk and Duroc gilts in our summer crop.
Reach out with any specific questions. All purebred options available will go back in some way to the winners listed here.

2025 MAJOR SHOW SUCCESS
BEYERS FARMS, TX
Offering Full Ownership and Possession of “Working Clothes”
(Seller retains the right to two doses of semen per collection for the life of the boar)
WORKING CLOTHES
Burner Phone x Selfish Ambition x First Take DOB 2-1-23
In the Spring of ’23, we purchased ‘Working Clothes’ as a weanling in an online sale from Gwartney Show pigs in Oklahoma. I was first intrigued by him because of his mother and her ties back to our sow herd, but as you dig deeper, you’ll understand very quickly why he generates the way he does and why we put faith in him from an early age.
THE PEDIGREE
His mother was 34-10 a gilt we sold at Perfect Timing to Gwartney. She was a Selfish Ambition on the 33-10 First Take sow that would have been the mother of the Guyer gilt back in ’19 that was Grand at Springfield, and Reserve Grand at Expo. 33-10 was a First Take on a Hilljack daughter that was out of a sow we called Jill that would have been a mate to Pillowtalk and out of the Champion gilt at OYE in ’15 – which makes her a granddaughter of the infamous MJ sow that started our Chester program. She would also be the mother of First Take. To tie in deeper, her sire, Selfish Ambition was out of 12-8 who was a mate to First Take.
Working Clothes’ sire, Burner Phone, was a Perfect Fit on the Jack in the Box sow that was at Sloan’s and the foundation of his Chester program. This twist only adds to his genetic intrigue. Perfect Fit originated here and was a Custom Made on Lucy (the Guyer sow from ’19) which as I stated earlier is a daughter of 33-10 also! So, you have an intensely linebred pedigree that combines 5 shots of MJ, plus most the other influential sows that have resided in Abernathy combined with a couple shots of Hilljack and the foundation sow of Sloan’s Chester program.
THE PROOF
His first season we bred him to three sows. From those, he produced Blue Collar at Laird’s, our $35,000 consignment at The Established last Fall; the Champion Chester and Third Overall Chester Gilts at Texas Elite; the Reserve Chester Barrow at San Antionio; the Fourth Overall Chester Gilt at San Antonio; and several other premium sale barrows and top-placing gilts and barrows at shows in Texas. We continued to use him in Fall ‘24/Spring ‘25 and look forward to seeing what else he can accomplish in a limited number of matings. He generates just like his pedigree reads. He consistently adds feature, foot size, a loose skeleton, and a great rib cage with shape and muscle. Taken to taller shouldered sows with extra look up front, it’s lights out good!

WEISHUHN BROTHERS SHOWPIGS
Pick of a barrow from the sows below or double the hammer to purchase a gilt/keep a male intact
This is an exciting opportunity for showman and breeders alike. We often find ourselves admiring this particular pen of first litter gilts and their matings. The 85 litter was an unforgettable litter we retained 9 females and a boar. Their mother is a key sow on our farm and has put countless pigs in the sale.
The 83 litter was another very exceptional litter from last spring. Their was a second place barrow at SFT that rivals the best of any that we have raised. Their mother would be a mate to a class winner and third place barrow SFT. Having 11-1 and 90-6 on the backside of their pedigree makes option B even that much more exciting.
All sows farrow June 1st. Whether your purchasing a barrow or trying to find your next breeding piece, here is an opportunity for first pick out of 11 exciting litters!

Foundation females are essential, and there is no question the impact 35-10 has left on our herd. Tonight’s winning bidder earns the choice of two options from Princess Mia’s Mom (35-10).
35-10 is the mother of Princess Mia, the $60,000 high selling gilt at Kerrville in 2023. 35-10 is out of the mother of the Champion Cross at Kerrville in 2022 and is a lttermate to the mother of the Champion White Cross in 2022.
GQ is a littermate to mother of Supreme Gilt at Kerrville in 2025.

23-9
Another Time x LTBB (Let the Beat Build) x WAM x Tarantino
**Sister to the Champion Light Cross at Texas Elite ‘25
The 23 litter that was exhibited this spring is without a doubt the deepest litter of pigs we have ever had. Highlighted by the Champion Light Cross at Texas Elite, 2nd Place Heavy York at HLSR, and a Sale Making Cross at HLSR. The success and pedigree behind this litter is no mistake!
Just 3 years ago when we decided to start trying to make white ones we purchased the WAM female from F2 Genetics for $8,000. We have built around her now having 5 females on the farm that go back to her. The LTBB litter was awesome and quickly put us on the map with the $15k gilt at Texas Elite ‘24 and a mate brother winning the Heavy Yorks at Austin!
We leaned on the recommendation of our good friends in Wall, Texas, the Weishuhn Brothers, to help get the LTBB gilt bred to Another Time they have housed there and again did as much as we could have asked for in that mating!
We kept the only two 23 litter gilts back, the champion and then 23-9, and once again with 23-9 we went straight back to the well at Weishuhns place and bred her to the “Second Chance” Boar they have. If you have followed the white program in Wall Texas you know empire they have built, and then reading the pedigree of this litter being offered, it is about as stacked as you can make it with the genetics they have offered over there. Lastly, there has NEVER been a white gilt sold out of this sow line, take advantage of the opportunity and holler with questions.
SECOND CHANCE HOUSED AT WBS
• Lots of proven genetics behind these females farrowing in this group
• 20-25 litters for the 2026 major show season
• Most breeds represented in this set, including Durocs, Spots, and Crossbreds
Buyer must contact L.J. Young no later than August 1st to discuss potential picks.
If pick is kept as a boar, L.J. has the right to two (2) doses per collection for life.
